Anuja Sathe Gokhale is an Indian actress, mainly working in Indian film industry. She is married to actor Saurabh Gokhale. [1]

Career

Anuja began her career as a theater artist, working in numerous popular Marathi plays such as Shobha Yatra and Uttar Ratra. She then progressed to Marathi television and then Marathi mainstream cinema, and more recently Bollywood. She played the leading role as Dhara in the primetime soap opera Tamanna , on Star Plus channel; this was her first Hindi TV show. [2] She was seen in the historical period series Peshwa Bajirao as the mother of Bajirao, Radhabai. [3] She was also seen in Khoob Ladi Mardaani... Jhansi Ki Rani as JankiBai. [4] She essayed the role of a mafia queen in the web-series Ek thi Begum which streamed on MX player. [5]

Personal life

Sathe met Saurabh Gokhale, another Marathi actor, on the sets of her show Mandala Don Ghadicha Dav. The couple tied the knot in 2013. [6]

Bajirao Mastani is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language epic historical romance film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who co-produced it with Eros International and composed its soundtrack. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra with Tanvi Azmi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Milind Soman, Mahesh Manjrekar and Aditya Pancholi in supporting roles. Based on Nagnath S. Inamdar's Marathi novel Rau, Bajirao Mastani narrates the story of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao I (1700–1740) and his second wife, Mastani.

Kashibai was the first wife of Bajirao I, the Peshwa to the fourth Maratha Chhatrapati (Emperor) Shahu. With Bajirao, she had four children, including Balaji Baji Rao and Ragunath Rao. Balaji succeeded Bajirao as Peshwa upon the latter's death in 1740. Also following Bajirao's death, Kashibai fostered her step-son, Shamsher Bahadur, whose mother was Bajirao's second wife, Mastani.

Bajirao Mastani is the soundtrack album, composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with assistance by Shreyas Puranik & Devrath to the 2015 Hindi film of the same name. The Bhat Peshwa family earlier known as Bhat family is a prominent Indian Chitpavan Brahmin family who dominated India for around 100 years in the late 18th century and early 19th century. Most of the members in this family were the Peshwas in the Peshwa Era of the Maratha Empire, and Peshwa later became their family name. During their regime, most of the Indian subcontinent was under their control. The last Peshwa, Baji Rao II, was defeated by the British East India Company in the Third Anglo-Maratha War in 1818. The territory was annexed to the British East India Company's Bombay Presidency, and he was pensioned.

Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara are an Indian film score composer duo. Sanchit Balhara started his career as a solo composer and became best known for composing the score of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2015 epic historical romance film, Bajirao Mastani. Sanchit's elder brother, Ankit Balhara, joined him in 2018, and the duo have been composing together since Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

"Deewani Mastani" is a song from the 2015 Hindi film Bajirao Mastani. The song is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, while backing vocals were given by Ganesh Chandanshive, Mujtaba Aziz Naza, Altamash Faridi, Farhan Sabri. The lyrics were majorly penned by Siddharth-Garima. Ganesh Chandanshive penned the Marathi lyrics while the Qawwali lyrics were written by Nasir Faraaz. The song features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in the video. The movie was dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and hence the song was also released as "Thindaadi Poagiraen" in Tamil and "Mastani" in Telugu on 25 November 2015. Peshwa Bajirao is an Indian Hindi historical drama television series, which broadcast from 23 January 2017 to 25 August 2017 on Sony TV. The series is based on a Peshwa of the Maratha Empire, Bajirao I, who ruled under the Chhatrapati known as Shahu. The series was produced by Sphere Origins of Sunjoy Waddhwa and creatively produced by Nilanjana Purkayasstha's company Invictus T Mediaworks. The series was aired on weekdays.

Dolly Sohi was an Indian television actress, known for playing the leads in Bhabhi and Kalash and appearing in Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi and Khoob Ladi Mardaani...Jhansi Ki Rani. Born on 15 September 1975, she died from cervical cancer on 8 March 2024, at the age of 48. Her death came only the day after her sister, actress Amandeep Sohi, had died of jaundice.
