Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, known professionally as Rajinikanth, is an Indian actor, producer and screenwriter who works predominantly in Tamil cinema he has also worked in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films, where he is also referred to as Super Star or Thalaivar. Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film Sati Sulochana directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded South India Movietone in Bangalore.
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is a 1999 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was released internationally as Straight From the Heart. The film stars Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. Based on Rashtriyashayar Jhaverchand Meghani's play Shetal ne Kathe, the film narrates the story of a newlywed man who discovers that his wife is in love with another man, and decides to unite them. The film has also been described as a loose adaptation of Maitreyi Devi's Bengali novel Na Hanyate, although the film itself does not credit it as a source.

Dhool (transl. Fantastic) is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by Dharani. The film stars Vikram, Jyothika and Reema Sen. Vivek, Sayaji Shinde, Telangana Shakuntala, and Pasupathy, among others, play important roles. Produced by A. M. Rathnam at a cost of ₹7 crore, the film had music composed by Vidyasagar and released on 10 January 2003. It received positive reviews and was a commercial blockbuster at the box office.

Kaksparsh is a 2012 Indian Marathi period drama film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Aniruddha Deshpande and Medha Manjrekar. The film stars Sachin Khedekar, Priya Bapat, Medha Manjrekar, Savita Malpekar and Ketaki Mategaonkar. Based on a short story by Usha Datar by the same name, the film depicts the tumultuous events in a Chitpavan Brahmin family, set around 1930–1950 in Konkan. Celluloid is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language biographical film co-produced, written and directed by Kamal, starring Prithviraj, Sreenivasan, Mamta Mohandas and Chandni in the lead roles. The film is a biopic based on the life story of J.C. Daniel, the father of Malayalam cinema, the making of his film Vigathakumaran and the story of Vigathakumaran's heroine P. K. Rosie. The film is particularly based on Life of J. C. Daniel, a biography of J. C. Daniel written by Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan. Filming started in November 2012. The film's online posters was done by a 16-year-old boy Aswin which was viral in social medias. and it was released on February 2013. The film opened with positive reviews and received seven Kerala State Film Awards including for Best Film and Best Actor (Prithviraj). The movie received many awards and much appreciation with the support of All Lights Film Services (ALFS), a leading film festival consultancy. The film was a blockbuster at the box office.

Basabdatta Chatterjee is a Bengali actress who mainly works in Bengali television serials. She made her debut in the popular soap Gaaner Oparey directed by Rituparno Ghosh. She rose to fame by acting in the lead female role in the comedy soap Boyei Gelo, which aired on Zee Bangla. But later, due to other engagements, she stopped acting in the serial. Shraddha Rama Srinath known Professionally as Shraddha Srinath is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. She debuted with the Malayalam film Kohinoor and gained wide acclaim for her role in the Kannada psychological thriller U Turn (2016) for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress and also for her performances in Jersey, Urvi, Vikram Vedha, Nerkonda Paarvai and Operation Alamelamma. For the latter, she won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – South award. She won the Zee Cine Awards Telugu for Best Find of the Year - Female in 2020 for her role in Jersey.
