Anvar Anvarov (born 22 October 2000) is a long jumper from Uzbekistan. He is Uzbek national record holder, and has won national titles both indoors and outdoors. [1]

Career

In August 2022, he won gold at the delayed 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya. [2] In September 2022, he won silver at the Central Asian Athletics Championship in Samarkand. [3]

In June 2023, Anvarov set a new Uzbek national record in the long jump, leaping a distance of 8.22 metres in Geneva. This surpassed the previous national record set in 1985. [4] [5] In July 2023 he finished fourth in the long jump at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok with a leap of 8.07 metres. [6] He competed at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest in August 2023. [7] In October 2023, he finished fourth at the delayed 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou with a leap of 8.01 metres. [8]

In June 2024, he tied with Czech Petr Meindlschmid with a leap of 7.92 meters to lead the long jump at the Josef Odložil Memorial event in Prague. [9]

He also holds the national best for the 60 metres, with his time of 6.78 seconds. He represented Kuwait at the global level at the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships and the 2003 World Youth Championships in Athletics.
