The Anvil Award (Norwegian : Amboltprisen) is a Norwegian literary prize conferred by the association Friends of Olav H. Hauge (Venelaget Olav H. Hauge). The prize consists of NOK 10,000 and an artistically crafted "anvil" created by the sculptor Leif Gjerme. The Anvil Award is conferred upon the person that has done the most to promote awareness of Hauge's poetry. [1]

Mads Wiel Nygaard's Endowment is an annually awarded literary prize from the publishing house Aschehoug. The prize is a recognition of superior literary work. The publisher's editorial management makes the award based on their collective judgement of merit. Applications are not accepted.
The Aschehoug Prize is published annually by the Norwegian publishing house Aschehoug. The Aschehoug Prize is awarded to Norwegian authors on the basis of the merit of a recent publication. It is awarded on merit, irrespective of the publisher, based on a binding recommendation from the Norwegian Critics Organization. The prize consists of a statuette of sculptor Ørnulf Bast and 100,000 kroner (2018). The monumental sculpture Evig Liv which is the reference of the miniature statuette is to be found at Sehesteds plass in front of the publisher's main building in Oslo.

Fritt Ord Award consists of two prizes awarded by the Fritt Ord Foundation. Two prizes are awarded in support of freedom of speech and freedom of expression; the Fritt Ord Award and the Fritt Ord Honorary Award. These are awards are distributed annually during the month of May in connection with the anniversary of the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II in May 1945.

Norwegian of the Century was a poll carried out by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation in 2005, the 100-year anniversary of Norwegian independence. The poll was SMS-based and over 400,000 Norwegians voted over the course of the year. To qualify as "Norwegian of the Century", the nominee must have lived between 1905 and 2005. All Norwegians were eligible for nomination, and there were initially 600 people on the list. A "Great Norwegian Committee" consisting of Nils Arne Eggen, Astrid Nøklebye Heiberg, Guri Hjeltnes, Harald Norvik, Erling Sandmo and Cathrine Sandnes narrowed the list down to 50. Another poll was conducted, again SMS-based, with the results presented live on NRK1 on 17 December 2005. The winner, with 41% of the vote, was King Olav V. Former Prime Minister Einar Gerhardsen was second with 24%, followed by Erik Bye with 15%. The results for the top 50 spots were as follows:
Olav Dale was a Norwegian composer, orchestra leader and jazz saxophonist. In addition to saxophone he played other woodwinds. He received little formal education in music, but he completed studies at the Voss Folk High School and the Toneheim Folk High School (1976–78).
Sondre Bratland is a Norwegian folk singer, song teacher and Government scholar. He has performed traditional songs from Setesdal and Telemark, collected religious folk tunes and composed music to songs by poets as Olav H. Hauge and Tarjei Vesaas. His album Pilegrimens Sangbog from 1982 earned him Spellemannprisen.
Name of the Year is a prize awarded by one of Norway's biggest newspapers, Verdens Gang (VG). Instituted in 1974, the prize has been awarded to several persons, including King Olav V in 1975.
