Apeejay School is a higher secondary school located in sector 16-A, Film City, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The school is a part of a family of schools running under the banner of the Stya Education Society. The first of the Apeejay schools was founded in Jalandhar, originally with the name: "Ameenchand Pyarelal Jalandharwale" or APJ in short. As the group of schools progressed and blossomed, the name was later changed to "Apeejay" to keep it short.

The school was founded by the late Dr. Stya Paul, the elder brother of Swraj Paul.

History

Apeejay Noida established in 1981 5-Pvt. Unaided (Recognized) 3-Co-educational school is situated in Sector 16-A, [1] Film City NOIDA and is spread over 16 acres (65,000 m2). Principals have been Mr. Arora, Mr. V. K. Mathur, Mr. Prashar, Dr. Hassija, Mr. N.N.Nayyar , Mr SC Tewari and presently Mr AK Sharma.

Students of the school have represented the country at the International Informatics Olympiad. There have been some years when two students of Apeejay Noida have been a part of the Indian National Team.(maximum allowed is four). [2]

The school has represented India at the International Cyber Olympiad, through teams sent by CODE, the school's computing club. The school enters basketball, football, table tennis, throw ball, volleyball and swimming tournaments. Other activities include debating, dancing, singing, classical music, orchestra, Vedic maths, theatre, literary events and robotics. School has also done well in many inter school quizzes and has also won Japan quiz organised by Japan embassy of India and quizcraft.

Foreign exchange programme

The school was a part of the UKIERI Scheme (UK and India Education Research Initiative). In 2007 12 students from the Apeejay school and other schools entered into a student exchange programme sponsored by the British Council, the students visited Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, a school in England. In July 2008 six UK students from Altrincham Grammar School visited the school accompanied by two teachers representing schools in Trafford. During their stay a project was conducted comparing the differences in the water supply and flooding between India and the UK.[ citation needed ]

The school has an exchange program with the Raffles School, Singapore. The visiting students from Raffles School, Singapore conducted The Green Audit with the students of Apeejay school.
