Arcadia High School is a public high school in Phoenix. The school has 1,680 students enrolled. Most of them come from feeder schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District.
The school was built 1958/59. It was designed by local architect Mel Ensign and built by Gilbert & Dolan Construction Co. The campus is known for its round buildings and futuristic space age design. [3] Between 2005 and 2008 much of the original campus was demolished and a new campus was built in its place. The new campus was designed by Orcutt/Winslow Partnership and built by DL Withers Construction Co. [4] The circular library is the only original building which remains.
The school competes in interscholastic athletics in several sports. Arcadia was formerly 5A Northeast Valley and was moved to 4A Desert Sky by the conference alignment committee due to enrollment. [2]

Klete Derik Keller is an American former competitive swimmer. Before retiring from swimming in 2008, he won five Olympic medals including two golds, at the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Summer Olympics in the 400-meter freestyle and the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
Desert Mountain High School (DMHS) is a public high school in northeast Scottsdale, Arizona, which opened in the fall of 1995. Peter William Vanderkaay is an American former competition swimmer who specialized in middle-distance freestyle events and is a four-time Olympic medalist. He was a member of the United States Olympic team in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and won bronze medals in the 200-meter freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 400-meter freestyle at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Hayley Reide Peirsol is an American former distance swimmer. She swam under Dave Salo with Irvine Novaquatics prior to attending Auburn University. While at Auburn, Peirsol trained under David Marsh, Dorsey Tierney and the late Ralph Crocker. She earned 3 individual NCAA titles and 3 individual SEC titles in the 1650 freestyle as well as 3 NCAA and 4 SEC team titles. In 2006 and 2007, Peirsol also trained with Club Wolverine at the University of Michigan along with teammates Erik Vendt, Michael Phelps, Klete and Kalyn Keller, and Kaitlin Sandeno under Bob Bowman and distance expert Jon Urbanchek. In 2006, Hayley became the third woman in history to ever break 16 minutes in the 1500 meter freestyle, the other two women being Janet Evans and Kate Ziegler.

Diana Marie Munz, later known by her married name Diana DePetro, is an American former competition swimmer and Olympic champion from Moreland Hills, Ohio. Despite a July 1999 back injury from a car accident, she won a gold and silver medal in the 2000 Olympics, and a bronze in 2004. She won numerous medals in the World Aquatics Championships and Pan Pacific Games between 1997-2003, attended John Carroll University, and in 2011 worked as a coach and aquatics director at Cleveland's Spire Institute.
Kalyn Keller is an American former competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. She competed in the women's 800-meter freestyle, and finished fourth with a time of 8:26.97 in the event final. In the women's 400-meter freestyle, she swam in the preliminary heats and recorded the tenth-best overall time of 4:09.83.
