2014 Asian Games 17th edition of the Asian Games

The 2014 Asian Games, officially known as the 17th Asian Games, was a pan-Asian multi-sport event held in Incheon, South Korea. This was the third time South Korea hosted the Asian Games, and its first time since 2002. Previously, it had also hosted the 1986 edition of the games.

The latter resulted in Malaysia being fined RM143,000 (US$40,000) by the organiser. Malaysia's achievement of 5 golds was 3 short of its 8 golds medal target. However, some achievements were made by the nation such as winning the first medal in the Archery event in Asian Games history.

Philippines at the 2014 Asian Games

The Philippines participated in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, held from 19 September to 4 October 2014. For the first time since Bangkok at the 1998 Asian Games, the country produced only one gold medal in the history of the country's participation in the games. Daniel Caluag, a Filipino Olympian at the 2012 Summer Olympics, saved the Philippine team from the gold medal drought by winning the first place in the BMX cycling. This is also the Philippines' first gold medal in cycling in the entire history of Asian Games.

Archery at the 2014 Asian Games was held in Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field, Incheon, South Korea from 23 to 28 September 2014. Four competitions were held in men and women's recurve and in men and women's compound.

Table tennis at the 2014 Asian Games was held in Suwon, South Korea from September 27–October 4, 2014. Two team events and five individual events were held at Suwon Gymnasium after the preliminary round of women's handball finished on September 25.

Rajat Chauhan is an Indian Archer. Rajat Chauhan created history by winning a silver medal in the World Archery Championships in Copenhagen. He won the Gold Medal Asian Games 2014 in Incheon in the men's compound archery team event along with Abhishek Verma and Sandeep Kumar. In 2014 he also became the first Indian compound archer to qualify for the Archery World Cup final, and in 2015 reached the final of the 2015 World Archery Championships.

Sandeep Kumar (archer) Indian archer

Sandeep Kumar is an Indian Archer. He won the Gold Medal Asian Games 2014 in Incheon in the men's compound archery team event along with Abhishek Verma and Rajat Chauhan. He had been honoured with the Arjuna award in the year 2015.

Trisha Deb is an Indian archer. She won the Bronze Medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon in the women's individual compound archery event and in the women's team compound along with Purvasha Shende and Jyothi Surekha Vennam.

The women's individual recurve archery event at the 2014 Asian Games was held from 23 to 28 September at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field in Incheon, South Korea. It was the tenth time the event was held as part of the Asian Games sports programme since the debut of archery in 1978. A total of 56 archers from 18 nations qualified for the event. Yun Ok-hee of South Korea was the defending champion.

Abhishek Verma (archer) Indian archer

Abhishek Verma is an Indian archer. At the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, he won the gold medal in the men's compound archery team event along with Rajat Chauhan and Sandeep Kumar, and the silver medal in the men's individual compound event. On 15 August 2015, he won a gold medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Wroclaw, Poland. On 25 October 2015, he won the silver medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico city.

Iran at the 2016 Summer Paralympics

Iran competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016.
