The 2014 Asian Para Games, also known as the 2nd Asian Para Games, was an Asian disabled multi-sport event held in Incheon, South Korea, from 18 to 24 October 2014, 2 weeks after the end of the 2014 Asian Games. This was the first time South Korea hosted the games. Around 4,500 athletes from 41 countries competed in the games which featured 443 events in 23 sports. The games was opened by the Prime Minister Chung Hong-won at the Incheon Munhak Stadium. The final medal tally was led by China, followed by host South Korea and Japan, while Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Singapore, Syria and Qatar won their first ever Asian Para Games gold medal. 24 world and 121 Asian records were broken during the Games.
Malaysia participated in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea from 19 September to 4 October 2014. Although Malaysia's performance is generally satisfactory, it was tarnished by the disqualification of Tai Cheau Xuen gold medal for wushu event due to doping scandal and the misbehaviour of its' athletes such as smoking and causing damage to property. The latter resulted in Malaysia being fined RM143,000 (US$40,000) by the organiser. Malaysia's achievement of 5 golds was 3 short of its 8 golds medal target. However, some achievements were made by the nation such as winning the first medal in the Archery event in Asian Games history.

Rajat Chauhan is an Indian Archer. Rajat Chauhan created history by winning a silver medal in the World Archery Championships in Copenhagen. He won the Gold Medal Asian Games 2014 in Incheon in the men's compound archery team event along with Abhishek Verma and Sandeep Kumar. In 2014 he also became the first Indian compound archer to qualify for the Archery World Cup final, and in 2015 reached the final of the 2015 World Archery Championships.
Trisha Deb is an Indian archer. She won the Bronze Medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon in the women's individual compound archery event and in the women's team compound along with Purvasha Shende and Jyothi Surekha Vennam.
Purvasha Sudhir Shende is an Indian Archer. She won the Bronze Medal Asian Games 2014 in Incheon in the Women's team compound event along with Surekha Jyothi and Trisha Deb. She is a young budding archer the country has produced.
The women's individual recurve archery event at the 2014 Asian Games was held from 23 to 28 September at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field in Incheon, South Korea. It was the tenth time the event was held as part of the Asian Games sports programme since the debut of archery in 1978. A total of 56 archers from 18 nations qualified for the event. Yun Ok-hee of South Korea was the defending champion.
Abhishek Verma is an Indian archer. At the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, he won the gold medal in the men's compound archery team event along with Rajat Chauhan and Sandeep Kumar, and the silver medal in the men's individual compound event. On 15 August 2015, he won a gold medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Wroclaw, Poland. On 25 October 2015, he won the silver medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico city.
