Areekkal Waterfalls is located in Pampakuda around 35 kilometers away from the Ernakulam main city on the Thodupuzha- Ernakulam road. [1]
Areekkal Waterfalls located in Pampakuda Panchayat of Ernakulam district which was not known much to tourists until earlier. [2] It received attraction in 2014, after the Kerala government launched the Areekkal tourism development project. [3] It is located on the Piramadam-Vettimudu route and is around 100 feet in height with forest and rubber plantations in its background. [4] It is one of the major domestic tourist destination in Pampakuda. [5] The waterfall originates from Mannathur Hills in Tirumaradi Panchayat. It comes down from a height of more than 70 feet over the rocks. It falls on all three levels and there is a barricaded area built below the third level for travelers to access. [6] Other notable places and tourist destinations near Areekkal falls are Kochareekkal caves, Mandalam Mount, Mayeeladam Para, Shoolam waterfall, Pazhur Padipura, Pazhur Perumthrikovil Temple and Piravam Valiya Palli. Kochi, also known as Cochin is a major port city on the Malabar Coast of India bordering the Laccadive Sea, which is a part of the Arabian Sea. It is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala and is commonly referred to as Ernakulam. Kochi is the most densely populated city in Kerala. As of 2011, it has a corporation limit population of 677,381 within an area of 94.88 km2 and a total urban population of more than of 2.1 million within an area of 440 km2, making it the largest and the most populous metropolitan area in Kerala. The current metropolitan limits of Kochi include the mainland Ernakulam, Fort Kochi, the suburbs of Edapally, Kalamassery, Aluva and Kakkanad to the northeast; Tripunithura to the southeast; and a group of islands closely scattered in the Vembanad Lake.
The Kerala backwaters are a network of brackish lagoons and canals lying parallel to the Arabian Sea of the Malabar coast of Kerala state in south-western India. It also includes interconnected lakes, rivers, and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 km (560 mi) of waterways, and sometimes compared to bayous. The network includes five large lakes linked by canals, both man made and natural, fed by 38 rivers, and extending virtually half the length of Kerala state. The backwaters were formed by the action of waves and shore currents creating low barrier islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range. In the midst of this landscape there are a number of towns and cities, which serve as the starting and end points of backwater cruises. There are 34 backwaters in Kerala. Out of it, 27 are located either closer to Arabian Sea or parallel to the sea. The remaining 7 are inland navigation routes.

Marmala Waterfall is a waterfall which is located a few kilometres away from Erattupetta, in Kottayam district, Kerala, India, It is exactly 8 km from Teekoy. The road from Mangalagiri to Marmala Waterfall is currently under construction. One has to trek through the middle of an estate, over the slippery rocky path, in order to reach the waterfalls. Marmala waterfall is about 40 meter in height, plunging into a 12-meter deep pool and feeds the River Teekoy.

Cochin Harbour Terminus (CHTS) is one of the railway stations in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is located on the Willingdon Island. During the peak time of the station, 17 trains operated from here to different parts of the country and served as the principal station providing rail connectivity to the southern segment of the Port of Kochi located on the Willingdon Island. The station, which not been in use after the commissioning of Vallarpadam container terminus is now locked and all the train service to the station from Ernakulam Junction were completely stopped in 2013. Since then, few tourist trains carrying passengers occassionally comes to the station, notably the Golden Chariot in 2022.
