The Argentina women's national rugby sevens team has been the second most successful team in South America after Brazil. At the CONSUR Women's Sevens, Argentina has been runner-up three times.
They have won the 2012, 2013 and 2015 Seven de la República. Argentina participated in the 2015 Hong Kong Women's Sevens, becoming the 38th nation to compete in Hong Kong since 1997. They were pooled with Canada, Samoa and Mexico. [1] [2]
The team qualified to the 2016 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. They were knocked out of the Cup quarter-finals by Russia. [3] Argentina competed at the 2019 Sudamérica Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Peru, finishing in third place and qualifying for the Repechage tournament in Monaco. [4]
Argentina announced ahead of the 2021 Sudamérica Women's Sevens that their new nickname was Las Yaguaretés. [5] In 2024, they participated in the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series; they placed third in the first round of the series which took place in Dubai. [6] [7]

The SVNS, known as the HSBC SVNS for sponsorship reasons, is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams. Organised for the first time in the 1999–2000 season as the IRB World Sevens Series, the competition was formed to promote an elite-level of international rugby sevens and develop the game into a viable commercial product. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2014.
The Tonga national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series. Tonga has participated in all but one of the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournaments.
The Japan national rugby sevens team participates in competitions such as the World Rugby Sevens Series and the Rugby World Cup Sevens.

The Hong Kong women's sevens rugby union team represents Hong Kong at an international level and plays at the Hong Kong Women's Sevens and other international sevens tournaments.
The Chinese women's national sevens rugby union team represents China in Rugby sevens at an international level. They have competed in the Rugby World Cup Sevens since the women's inaugural tournament in 2009, and have also competed at the Summer Olympics, making their debut in Tokyo in 2020.
Thailand's women's national rugby sevens team competes at the Asian Games and other sevens tournaments. They featured in the inaugural 2009 Women's Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai.

The Poland women's national rugby sevens team represents Poland in rugby sevens. They compete in the Rugby Europe Women's Sevens.
The 2019 Hong Kong Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament that took place at the Hong Kong Stadium between the 5–7 April 2019. It was the 44th edition of the Hong Kong Sevens, and the seventh tournament of the 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series. Sixteen teams competed in the main tournament, while a further twelve competed in a qualifier tournament with the winner getting core team status for the 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series.
The World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby that includes men's and women's events. Sponsored by banking group HSBC, it is the second tier of competition below the World Rugby Sevens Series. Teams on the respective men's and women's tours of the Challenger Series compete for promotion to the first tier as a core team.
The 2021 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 22nd annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999. Due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, only two tournaments were played in the 2021 series instead of the usual ten. The number of teams participating was also reduced from sixteen to twelve at the tournaments, with many of the top teams from the previous series not taking part.
The 2015 Hong Kong Women's Sevens was the 18th edition of the tournament. It took place between 26–27 March 2015. Canada won their third consecutive Hong Kong title. The event also marked the debut of Argentina and Mexico as the 38th and 39th international unions to participate in Hong Kong since 1997.
