Career

In 2015, he became the runner-up of Iran Fajr International tournament in men's doubles event. [3] In the same year he plays for Egret Club in mixed doubles event at the Chicago Open and reached the third place. [4] Now he works as a coach in Egret Badminton Club in Chicago. [5]

He also won the gold medal in the boys' doubles event with Toma Junior Popov. At the 2018 European Men's Team Championships, he helped the team claim the bronze medal. Teamed-up with Bastian Kersaudy, they clinched the men's doubles gold at the 2018 Mediterranean Games. He captured a bronze medal at the 2019 European Games in the mixed doubles event with Delphine Delrue. Gicquel and Delrue reached a career high as world number 10 in the BWF World ranking in 9 March 2021. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
