The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Lai Pei Jing is a Malaysian badminton player who played in the doubles events. She started her career in the women's singles event. She briefly partnered Chan Peng Soon in mid-2014 and in August that year, they reached a world ranking of No. 48. However, she resumed her partnership with Tan Aik Quan later that month. Since 2016, she has been partnered with Tan Kian Meng.
Ronald Alexander is an Indonesian badminton player specializes in doubles. He is joined the Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club in 2008, and moved to Jaya Raya Suryanaga Surabaya in 2011.
Shin Seung-chan is a South Korean doubles specialist badminton player. She won the women's doubles bronze medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and 2014 BWF World Championships. Shin clinched the women's and mixed doubles gold at the 2015 Summer Universiade, also in the team event in 2013 and 2015.
Liu Xin is a Chinese professional badminton singles player. Born in Benxi, Liaoning, her string of good performances during the 2010 and early 2011 helped her to attain the career-best ranking of 5 in April 2011. She was part of the Chinese team that won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 World University Championships, and also at the 2014 Asian Games.
Chau Hoi Wah is a Hong Kong badminton player, specializes in doubles play. She was the first ever Hong Kong player that won the Asian Championships in 2014, and also a bronze medalist at the World Championships in 2017 alongside Lee Chun Hei. She competed at the Asian Games for four consecutive times from 2006–2018, and also in 2016 Summer Olympics.

Evgeniya Andreevna Kosetskaya is a Russian badminton player. She was the women's doubles silver medalist at the 2015 Baku European Games, and settled the women's singles bronze medal in 2019 Minsk. She competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Shiho Tanaka is a Japanese retired badminton player who affiliates with Hokuto Bank team. She was the bronze medalists at the 2018 World Championships in the women's doubles, and at the 2015 Summer Universiade in the women's singles. She won the year-end tournament Superseries Finals in 2017. Tanaka was part of Japanese winning team at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, 2018 Uber Cup, and at the 2018 Asia Women's Team Championships.
Pornpawee Chochuwong is a Thai badminton player. She was the girls' singles silver medalist at the 2015 Asian and 2016 World Junior Championships. She was also part of the Thai winning teams at the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Chochuwong won her first World Tour title at the 2020 Spain Masters by beating the reigning Olympic champion Carolina Marín in the final.

The 2018 BWF World Tour, officially known as the 2018 HSBC BWF World Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the first season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 26 tournaments which led up to the World Tour Finals tournament. It replaced the BWF Super Series and BWF Grand Prix, which was held from 2007 to 2017.
