The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations. In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF).
The BWF World Junior Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in the world. The championships is held annually and consists of two separate competitions: a mixed team championships followed by an individual championships.
Carsten Mogensen is a former badminton player from Denmark. He was the gold medalist at the 2015 European Games, two time European champions winning in 2012 and 2017, and the silver medalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Mogensen was a former world number 1 in the BWF World ranking together with Mathias Boe.
Brice Leverdez is a French badminton player. He was a champion at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, won a silver medal at the 2015 European Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships.
Ayaka Takahashi is a retired Japanese badminton player who was affiliated with Unisys badminton team. She is an Olympic Games gold medalist, two-time Asian Champion, two-time Asian Games silver medalist, and World Championship bronze medalist.
Chau Hoi Wah is a Hong Kong badminton player, specializes in doubles play. She was the first ever Hong Kong player that won the Asian Championships in 2014, and also a bronze medalist at the World Championships in 2017 alongside Lee Chun Hei. She competed at the Asian Games for four consecutive times from 2006 to 2018, and also in 2016 Summer Olympics.
Ronan Labar is a French badminton player. He won the French National Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles event in 2013, 2015 and 2017; also in the men's doubles event in 2014, 2015 and 2020.
The Para-Badminton World Championships is an individual bi-annual event organized by the BWF. The highest ranked para-badminton players compete in six Sport Classes in five categories. The championships was organized under Para Badminton World Federation (PBWF) before it decided to join with BWF in June 2011.
Jelle Maas is a Dutch retired badminton player specializing in doubles events. He was the bronze medalists at the 2018 European Championships and 2019 European Games.
Robin Tabeling is a Dutch badminton player, specializing in doubles play. He started playing badminton in Amstelveen at a club called BV van Zijderveld. He won a silver medal at the 2013 European Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event and a bronze medal in team event. Partnered with Jelle Maas, he won bronze medals at the 2018 European Championships and 2019 European Games. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Tabeling won a gold medal with Selena Piek in the mixed doubles event at the 2023 European Games.
The U.S. International is an open international badminton tournament held in Orange County, California, United States. This tournament previously a Grand Prix level. In 2016, this tournament downgraded to BWF International Challenge level. In 2017, the tournament has both International Challenge and International Series event.
Isabel Lohau is a German badminton player, specializing in doubles play. She started playing badminton at her hometown Hersbruck in 2001, and in 2010 she joined the Germany national badminton team. She along with national team won the 2011 European Junior Championships and 2012 European Women's Team Championships. In the individual event, Lohau also won the bronze medals at the 2010 World Junior Championships in the mixed doubles, 2011 European Junior Championships in the mixed and girls' doubles, and at the 2018 and 2021 European Championships in the mixed doubles. She represented her country competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Delphine Aurore Delrue is a French badminton player. Delrue started playing badminton at aged seven, and she affiliate with the USEE Badminton club in 2006. Delrue was selected to join the national team in INSEP in 2016. In 2015, she became the runner-up of European University Championships in the women's doubles and mixed doubles events. In 2016, she won French National Badminton Championships in the women's doubles event with her partner Léa Palermo. She also the runner-up at the Orléans International in the women's doubles event and Swiss International in the mixed doubles event. In 2017, she became the runner-up at the Estonian International partnered with Léa Palermo. She competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games, clinched the women's doubles gold with Palermo. In 2019, she captured a bronze medal at the European Games in the mixed doubles event with Thom Gicquel. Delrue and Gicquel reached a career high as world number 10 in the BWF World ranking in 9 March 2021. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Mia Blichfeldt is a Danish badminton player. She won the gold medals at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the girls' singles event, and later at the 2019 Minsk European Games in the women's singles event.
Nami Matsuyama is a Japanese badminton player from the Saishunkan team. She was the girls' doubles gold medalist at the 2016 World Junior Championships in Bilbao, Spain partnered with Sayaka Hobara. Matsuyama won her first senior international title in Thailand at the 2017 Smiling Fish International tournament with Chiharu Shida.
Nikté Alejandra Sotomayor Ovando is a Guatemalan badminton player. She won the bronze medals at the 2019 Pan American Games in the women's singles, and at the 2021 Pan Am Championships in the women's doubles. Sotomayor will representing her country to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as the first ever Guatemalan female badminton player to compete at the Olympic Games.
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles and doubles. The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017.
