The 2007 BWF Super Series was the inaugural season of the BWF Super Series. It was held from January 16 with Malaysia Open and end on December 2, 2007. It was expected to end on December 23, 2007 with Super Series Finals; this event was postponed and later cancelled due to an uncertain circumstance.
Venue and date for the Super Series Final still uncertain after Qatar failed to get enough sponsorship to support the event. [1] It supposed to be held on January 2, to January 6, 2008, however once again it was delayed by Badminton World Federation to an uncertain date. [2] The tournament was eventually canceled.

The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007.
The Korea Open is an annual badminton event that is commonly held in Seoul, South Korea. The tournament used to be known as Korea Open Super Series because it became one of the BWF Super Series tournaments beginning with 2007. BWF categorised Korea Open as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2018.
The 2007 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix was the inaugural season of BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix under the new tournament structure introduced by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was held from February 28 and ended on December 12, 2007. 12 events were planned, but India Open Grand Prix Gold was cancelled following the bomb blast in the city. The organizers decided to postpone the tournament to indefinite date. However, the President of Badminton Association of India said the tournament is likely to take place from January 7 to January 13, 2008. But BWF later confirmed the event was cancelled. Had the tournament been held, it would have been held in Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad from 4–9 September 2007.
The 2008 BWF Super Series was the second season of the BWF Super Series. The season spanned between the continental of Asia and Europe and was starting with Malaysia Open from January 15 and ended with Hong Kong Open on November 30, 2008. The top eight ranked players competed in the Masters Finals in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from December 18 to December 21, 2008.
Mathias Boe is a badminton player from Denmark. He was the gold medalist at the 2015 European Games, two time European champions winning in 2012 and 2017, and the silver medalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He joined the Denmark winning team at the 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China.
The BWF Super Series Finals was an annual badminton tournament held at the end of the year where the players with the most points from that calendar year's twelve events of the BWF Super Series competed for total prize money of at least US$ 1,000,000. It was replaced by BWF World Tour Finals in 2018.
The 2011 BWF Super Series was the fifth season of the BWF Super Series. This season marked the beginning of a three-year cycle of the event, the second after the first four-year one from 2007 to 2010. A few changes were announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), as the India Open was promoted up one stage from the Grand Prix Gold level, while the Swiss Open was dropped from the Super Series. Five tournaments were promoted to become slightly higher-level Super Series Premier events with more prize money awarded than in the Super Series tournaments.
The 2012 BWF Super Series was the sixth season of the BWF Super Series. The season started with a Super Series Premier event in Korea and ended in Hong Kong. The season-ending Masters Finals were held in Shenzhen, China from December 12–16, 2012.
Bodin Isara is badminton player and Rattana Bundit University's student from Thailand. He competed for Thailand at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Maneepong Jongjit but was defeated in the quarterfinals by Malaysia's Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong. In 2013, Isara switched from competing for the national squad to competing for the Granular Club, an independent badminton club in Thailand. Currently his partner is Nipitphon Phuangphuapet.
Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk is a Thai badminton player. He won his first career Superseries title by winning the Denmark Open on 23 October 2016, becoming the first Thai to win a men's singles title in a Superseries Premier tournament. He is studying for a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Siam University.
Chou Tien-chen is a Taiwanese badminton player. He became the first local shuttler in 17 years to win the men's singles title of the Chinese Taipei Open in 2016 since Indonesian-born Fung Permadi won it in 1999. He won his first BWF Super Series title at the 2014 French Open, beating Wang Zhengming of China 10–21, 25–23, 21–19 in the finals. He is the record holder of three consecutive Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold titles from 2012 till 2014.
The 2013 BWF Super Series was the seventh season of the BWF Super Series. The season started with a Super Series Premier in Korea and ended in Hong Kong. The Masters Finals was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Srikanth Kidambi is an Indian badminton player. A former world no. 1, Kidambi was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, in 2018. and the Arjuna award in 2015. In 2021, he became the first Indian to reach the World Championship final in the men's singles discipline.
The 2014 BWF Super Series, officially known as the 2014 Metlife BWF Super Series for sponsorship reasons, was the eighth season of the BWF Super Series. For this season, an annual US$400,000 of player incentive scheme bonus payment shared among the year-end top 10 players/pairs once they fulfil various media and sponsorship commitments.
Beiwen Zhang is a Chinese-born American badminton player who is a singles specialist. She won the women's singles title at the 2021 Pan Am Championships and at the 2023 Pan American Games.
Chen Qingchen is a Chinese badminton player. She started her achievements under her coach Li Yongbo, with partner in the women's doubles Jia Yifan, and in the mixed doubles Zheng Siwei. She ended the 2016 BWF Season by winning the BWF Most Promising Player of the Year, also completed her success by winning titles at the 2016 BWF Superseries Finals in the women's and mixed doubles categories respectively. In 2017, she was awarded as the BWF Best Female Player of the Year, after came to Dubai World Superseries Finals as the first seeded both in women's and mixed doubles, and also won the women's doubles gold and mixed doubles silver medals at the 2017 BWF World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. In women's doubles, she also won gold medals at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 World Championships, 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, and at the 2019 Asian Championships.
Jia Yifan is a Chinese badminton player. She won gold medals at the 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023 World Championships, 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, and at the 2019 Asian Championships.
The 2017 BWF Super Series, officially known as 2017 Metlife BWF Super Series for sponsorship reasons, was the eleventh season of the BWF Super Series of badminton. It was replaced by the BWF World Tour from the 2018 season.
Kenta Nishimoto is a Japanese badminton player. He won a silver medal in the men's singles at the 2017 Summer Universiade and a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. Nishimoto was part of Japan winning team at the 2012 Asian Junior Championships and at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships.
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles and doubles. The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017.
