Romanian International

The Romanian International, also known as BanuInvest International Championships, is an international badminton open held in Romania since 1991. It was halted in 1994, 1996, 1997, and between 2001 and 2005. The tournament belongs to the EBU Circuit.

Sudket Prapakamol is a badminton player from Thailand. He is a police lieutenant and a sportsman like his brother. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

Badminton at the 1992 Summer Olympics Badminton at the Olympics

Badminton had its debut as an official medal sport at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was held from 28 July to 4 August 1992. Four events were held in the first competition of the sport: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles. Badminton was contested in the Pavelló de la Mar Bella. 36 nations entered competitors, with a total of 177 entrants. Asian nations won fifteen of the sixteen medals, with their dominance being broken only by Denmark's bronze medal in the men's singles.

Badminton World Federation Badminton association

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations. In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF).


Oryahovo is a port city in northwestern Bulgaria, part of Vratsa Province. It is located in a hilly country on the right bank of the Danube, just east of the mouth of the river Ogosta, a few more kilometres downstream from where the Jiu flows into the Danube on Romanian territory. The town is known for the ferry service that connects it to the Romanian town of Bechet across the river. There are also plans by local private companies for a bridge across the Danube.

Malaysia national badminton team Malaysian national badminton team

The Malaysia national badminton team is a badminton team that plays for Malaysia in international competitions. The men's team has enjoyed immense success, having won the Thomas Cup five times, most recently in 1992 and became runner-up nine times. In the Uber Cup competition, the women's team with the best results in 1975, 2004, 2008 and 2010 edition making it to the quarter-finals. Malaysia competed in the Sudirman Cup since 1989 with the best result in 2009 and 2021, placed third.

The Norwegian International in badminton is an international open held in Norway since 1954. In the first years only the pure man disciplines were played, but since 1959 women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles were also played. In 1957, 1962, 1966, 1974, 1979 and 1990 the championships were halted. It is currently one of the tournaments on the European Badminton Circuit.

The Slovak International in badminton is an international open held in Slovakia since 1993. The tournament followed the Czechoslovakian Open, and it belongs to the European Badminton Circuit.

The Portugal Open in badminton is an international open held annually in Portugal since 1965. It is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit.

The Turkey International in badminton is an international open held in Turkey since 2007. The tournament belongs to the EBU Circuit. Turkish National Badminton Championships are played since the year 1993.

Isis Poon Lok Yan is a badminton player from Hong Kong. She competed at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics in women's doubles event.

Brunei, officially known as Brunei Darussalam, competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's seventh appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Brunei failed to register any athletes in two editions of the Games: 1992 in Barcelona and 2008 in Beijing.

The U.S. International is an open international badminton tournament held in Orange County, California, United States. This tournament previously a Grand Prix level. In 2016, this tournament downgraded to BWF International Challenge level. In 2017, the tournament has both International Challenge and International Series event.

Goh Yea Ching is a Malaysian badminton player.

Takuto Inoue is a Japanese badminton player from the Unisys team. He won his first senior international title at the 2013 Romanian International tournament in the men's singles and doubles event.

Shevon Jemie Lai is a Malaysian badminton player.

Luís Enrique Peñalver Pereira is a Spanish badminton player. The Toledo-born, represented Spain competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. He was a part of the Spanish national junior team that won the gold medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the mixed team event. In 2017, he won his first senior title at the Romanian International tournament in the men's singles event.

Romania national badminton team National badminton team

The Romania national badminton team represents Romania in international badminton team competitions. The Romanian national team have never participated in the Sudirman Cup, Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup.

Harald Koch is a retired Austrian badminton player from Askö Traun badminton club. He is the brother of former Olympian badminton player Jürgen Koch.
