Misbun Ramdan bin Mohmed Misbun (born 1 March 1990) is a Malaysian professional badminton player. [1] He is the son of former Malaysian international badminton player Misbun Sidek. [2]

Career

Misbun Ramdan won his first local title by upsetting Mohd Arif Abdul Latif, 21–18, 21–18 in the men’s singles final of the 2012 Pahang Open. [3] In the same year, he won his first national title by defeating Chong Wei Feng to become the new national champion. [4] [5]

In January 2013, Ramdan left Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to train under his father, Misbun Sidek. In April 2014, Ramdan was invited by BAM for the selection trials of Thomas Cup. [6] At the selection trial, he lost 21–19, 21–15 to Goh Soon Huat. [7]

In 2015, Ramdan suffered an Achilles heel rupture that kept him from competing for almost 2 years. He came back in February 2017 to compete in the National Championships and reached the singles final. He eventually lost to defending champion Lim Chi Wing. [8]

To date, Lee has won a total of sixty-nine BWF singles titles including a record 42 BWF Super Series singles titles, and a record 4 BWF Super Series Finals. He is the first men's singles player to have won every BWF Super Series Premier title. Lee is also a triple Silver Medalist in men's singles, having reached the finals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics. He is also a quadruple Silver Medalist at the BWF World Championships. However, he was stripped of his achievement as the runner-up at the 2014 BWF World Championships due to doping violations. Following that matter, he served an 8-month suspension from international competitions.

Sidek Abdullah Kamar was a Malaysian badminton coach, former player and the father of Malaysia's most famous badminton-playing family, Sidek brothers who represented Malaysia in badminton.

The Sidek badminton family is a Malaysian family with a significant history within professional badminton. The patriarch of the family was an avid badminton fan, Sidek Abdullah Kamar (1936–2005), who himself was a former player turned senior coach.
