The Morocco International is an international badminton tournament held in Morocco since 2010. The first tournament has been an International Series level. [1] [2]

Badminton racquet sport

Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" and "doubles". Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court.

Morocco Country in North Africa

Morocco, officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is a sovereign state located in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Morocco claims the areas of Ceuta, Melilla and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera, all of them under Spanish jurisdiction. The capital is Rabat and the largest city Casablanca. Morocco spans an area of 710,850 km2 (274,460 sq mi) and has a population of over 35 million.

The BWF International Series is a level four tournament of badminton tournaments along with International Challenge and Future Series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF) since 2007.

The Uganda International is an international badminton tournament held in Uganda organised by Uganda Badminton Association. In 2008, this tournament have been sanctioned by Badminton World Federation as International Series rated event with total prize money US$5000. For the badminton players, this tournament become a landmark for Uganda, because they can improved their point in world ranking and also in certain years, the points will be the Olympic Games qualification.

Kate Foo Kune Badminton player

Kate Foo Kune is a badminton player from Mauritius. She began playing badminton in Mauritius at age six. Her first major tournament participation was 2013 BWF World Championships in China, where she lost in the first round of women's singles to Sarah Walker of England. Foo Kune represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was the flagbearer for Mauritius during the Parade of Nations.

Lucas Maurice Corvée is a French badminton player from the Issy Les Moulineaux 92 club. Corvee started playing badminton at aged 6 in Alençon badminton club. His mother also a professional badminton player. He became a member of the France national badminton team in 2010, then in 2011, he won a bronze medal at the European Junior Badminton Championships in boys' doubles event. Corvée was the champion of the 2013 Puerto Rico International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Brice Leverdez.

Léa Palermo is a French badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged 8, then joined the France national badminton team in 2006. In 2009, she won the bronze medal at the European U17 Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles event. In 2010, she competed at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. In 2015, she won the Slovenia International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Bastian Kersaudy. In 2016, she won French National Badminton Championships in women's doubles event. She also the runner-up at the Orleans International in the women's doubles event and at the Estonian International in the mixed doubles event. In 2017, she became the runner-up at the Estonian International partnered with Delphine Delrue. She competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games, clinched the women's doubles gold with Delrue.

Manon Kriéger is a French badminton player. In 2015, she won the Morocco International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Vincent Espen. In 2017, she and Espen reached the semifinals in the same tournament. She also reached the finals round in the women's singles event, but lost to Martina Repiska of Slovakia.

The Mauritius International is an annual feature international badminton tournament held in Mauritius organized by Mauritius Badminton Association (MBA) and sanctioned by BWF. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Series rated event, but in 2012 and 2013, rated as Future Series event. Another tournament, Rose-Hill International established in 2016 rated as Future Series event.

Rajae Rochdy-Abbas is a Moroccan female badminton player. She trained at the Athlétic Club Boulogne Billancourt in France.

Matej Hliničan is a Slovak male badminton player. In 2014, he won the Ethiopia International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Bridget Shamim Bangi of Ethiopia, and became the runner-up in the men's doubles event with Arnaud Genin of French. In December 2014, he and Bangi became the runner-up at the Botswana International tournament, they were defeated by the South African pair in the final round. In 2015, he teamed-up with Jan Fröhlich in the men's doubles event, and they became the runner-up at the Puerto Rico International tournament.

Martina Repiská is a Slovak badminton player. She started playing badminton at the age of nine in her hometown, then playing competitively in the junior international tournament when she was twelve. She became the member of the national team in 2009, and won her first international title at the 2017 Morocco International tournament. Repiská competed at the 2019 European Games.

Ngandwe Miyambo is a Zambian badminton player. She was the runner-up at the 2015 Botswana International tournament in the women's doubles event teamed-up with Elizaberth Chipeleme. They were defeated by Ogar Siamupangila and Grace Gabriel in the straight sets. The pair also the runner-up at the 2016 Zambia International tournament. Miyambo was a part of the Zambia team to win bronze at the 2017 African Badminton Championships.

Aatish Lubah is a Mauritian badminton player. He was one of the 14 players selected for the Road to Rio Program, a program that aimed to help African badminton players to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games. Lubah competed at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Jinkan Ifraimu Bulus is a Nigerian male badminton player.

Ebenezar Olaoluwa Fagbemi is a Nigerian male badminton player. He competed at the 2002 and 2010 Commonwealth Games. At the All-Africa Games, he has collected three golds, two silvers and three bronzes from 2003-2015.

Sahir Abdool Edoo is a Mauritian badminton player. He competed at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. He is now serves as a secretary general at the Badminton Confederation of Africa.

Luka Zdenjak is a Croatian male badminton player. In 2010, he became the runner-up at the Morocco International tournament in mixed doubles event partnered with Rajae Rochdy. In 2011 he won the mixed doubles event and the runner-up in the men's singles event at the Ethiopia International tournament.

Bahaedeen Ahmad Alshannik is a Jordanian badminton player. He was the mixed doubles runner-up at the Morocco International tournament in 2014 and 2015, and also men's doubles runner-up in 2015. At the Egypt International tournament he became the runner-up in the men's doubles event. He won her first international title at the 2017 Uganda International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Domou Amro. At the Cameroon, he won double title when he captured the men's singles and doubles event.
