Arild Linneberg (born 26 January 1952) is a Norwegian researcher of literature, literary critic, essayist and translator.

Early life and career

He was born in Oslo, and is a Doctor of Philosophy by education. He became a lecturer at the University of Bergen in 1985, and was promoted to professor in 1992. In addition to his academic works, he has published essays as well as the satirical novel Ubehaget i kulturen together with Vigdis Hjorth in 1995. [1]

Gjermund Eggen was a Norwegian cross-country skier who won three gold medals at the 1966 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The championships were held in Oslo in conjunction with the Holmenkollen ski festival, and so Eggen's medals also counted as Holmenkollen victories. He was awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1968. He competed at the 1968 Winter Olympics in the 30 km event, but finished only 34th. Eggen died in Elverum at age 77.

Alf Steen Andersen was a Norwegian ski jumper. He was born in Drammen, but represented the Oslo clubs Sandaker, Skeid and Lyn. He won the gold medal in the individual large hill at the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz. He also won a bronze medal in the individual large hill at the 1935 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Vysoké Tatry.
