Arisoa Lala Razafitrimo (born 26 April 1954) is a Malagasy politician who was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar from 2014 to 2015. [1] She was educated at the University of Madagascar. [2]
Madagascar,officially the Republic of Madagascar,is an island country lying off the southeastern coast of Africa. It is the world's fourth largest island,the second-largest island country and the 44th largest country in the world. Its capital and largest city is Antananarivo.
Madagascar has diplomatic relations with many countries,both individual bilateral relations and by virtue of its membership of African and other regional blocs. International aid has been received from the IMF and the World Bank,and a national environmental plan supported by the World Bank and USAID began in 1990.
The Scattered Islands in the Indian Ocean consist of four small coral islands,an atoll,as well as a reef in the Indian Ocean;they have constituted the fifth district of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands,though sovereignty over some or all of the islands is contested by the Comoros,Madagascar,and Mauritius. None of the islands have ever had a permanent population.
The national parks of Madagascar include all officially recognized protected areas as of 2015. The protected areas network of Madagascar is managed by the Madagascar National Parks Association (PNM-ANGAP). The network includes three types of protected areas:Strict Nature Reserves,National Parks and Wildlife Reserves. At the 2003 IUCN World Parks Congress in Durban,the Malagasy President,Marc Ravalomanana,announced an initiative to more than triple the area under protection from approximately 4,200,791 acres (17,000.00 km2) to over 14,826,322 acres (60,000.00 km2). This "Durban Vision",as it has been dubbed,involved broadening the definition of protected areas in the country and legislation has been passed to allow the creation of four new categories of protected area:Natural Parks,Natural Monuments,Protected Landscapes,and Natural Resource Reserves. As well as allowing these new objectives for protected areas management,the new legislation also provided for entities other than PNM-ANGAP to manage protected areas,such as government ministries,community associations,NGOs and other civil society organizations,and the private sector.
Lesbian,gay,bisexual,and transgender (LGBT) people in Madagascar face discrimination and legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. While same-sex sexual activity is legal among individuals above the age of 21,most civic liberties such as the rights to get married and adopt children are not afforded to LGBT individuals.

Andry Nirina Rajoelina is a French-Malagasy politician and businessman who has served as president of Madagascar since 2023. He previously served as president from 2019 to 2023,and was president of a provisional government from 2009 to 2014 following a political crisis and military-backed coup,having held the office of Mayor of Antananarivo for one year prior. Before entering the political arena,Rajoelina was involved in the private sector,including a printing and advertising company called Injet in 1999 and the Viva radio and television networks in 2007.
