Arkadiy Vasilyev (born 19 January 1987) is a Russian decathlete. Vasilyev won the decathlon at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing. [1]

In 2001 in Götzis he became the first decathlete ever to achieve over 9,000 points, setting the record at 9,026 points, succeeding his compatriot, Tomáš Dvořák, who had scored 8,994 points two years earlier.

This record was broken by Dvořák's compatriot Roman Šebrle in 2001. Dvořák is the only athlete to score over 8,900 points three times.
