Arthi Venkatesh is an Indian model and socialite from Chennai. [1] [2] After appearing in commercials and portfolios in the late 2000s, she made her acting debut through Bejoy Nambiar's bilingual film Solo (2017). [3] [4]

Career

Arthi Venkatesh was born in Chennai to a Telugu-speaking family. She graduated with a degree in visual communications from Loyola College, Chennai and pursued a course in interior design from Bangalore. [1] During her time in Bangalore, she became acquainted with fashion stylist Prasad Bidapa, who suggested that she should partake in the Miss India pageant, and subsequently Arthi pursued a career in modelling. [1] [5]

She briefly moved to New York to further her career in fashion. [6] Her first introduction to the international fashion industry took place during the New York Fashion Week, where she was noticed by Jovani and Morrell Maxie and eventually walked for them at the New York Bridal Fashion Week. [7] She is considered as a socialite in Chennai. [8] [9] [10] [11] As of 2017, Arthi has had about 250 runway shows and more than 350 photo shoots to her credit. [12] [7]

Despite receiving acting offers from the likes of Mani Ratnam and Shanoo Sharma of Yash Raj Films, Arthi had been reluctant to enter the film industry early in her career. [13] In 2016, Arthi accepted an acting offer from director Bejoy Nambiar and took up acting training to work on the film. Although the film was shelved, he later offered her a role in Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, Solo (2017) opposite Dulquer Salmaan. She shot for the film for a week in Kochi, and it remains her only acting venture to date. [14] [15] [16] In 2018, she appeared as a judge on the reality show Kadhalika Neramillai alongside Sathish Krishnan. [17]

Solo is a 2017 Indian experimental anthology film co-written, co-produced and directed by Bejoy Nambiar with Dulquer Salmaan in a quadruple role as Shekhar, Trilok, Siva and Rudra. Shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil, production began during November 2016. Solo tells the story of four people, each story revolving around four elements: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water, each with the facets of Lord Shiva. The film was released on 5 October 2017 in both Tamil and Malayalam worldwide. The film was dubbed in Telugu as Athade, which released on 22 June 2018. It's also dubbed into Hindi as Tatva.

Solo is the soundtrack to the 2017 Indian anthology film of the same name released in Malayalam and Tamil. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Solo consists of four shorter films in the anthology and was shot simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam. Composers who worked on the film are Prashant Pillai, Thaikkudam Bridge, Masala Coffee, Gaurav Godkhindi, Agam, Filter Coffee, Brodha V, TaalAtma, Abhinav Bhansal, Sooraj Kurup and Sez on the Beat. The album has 22 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English. The whole soundtrack lasts about an hour.

Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy heist thriller film written and directed by Desingh Periyasamy in his directorial debut. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Ritu Varma, Rakshan and Niranjani Ahathian. Gautham Vasudev Menon and Uday Mahesh play supporting roles. Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal marks the debuts of Rakshan and Nirinjani. The plot is centered on two pairs of con artists who engage in various scams while juggling romantic relationships, ultimately teaming up to pull off a high-stakes heist.

<i>Hey Sinamika</i> 2022 film directed by Brinda

Hey! Sinamika is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written by Madhan Karky and directed by Brinda in her directorial debut. The title of the film was taken from a song in O Kadhal Kanmani. Produced by Jio Studios and Global One Studios, the film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal. Featuring music composed by Govind Vasantha and cinematography by Preetha Jayaraman, the venture began production in March 2021. It is an adaptation of the 2008 Argentine film A Boyfriend for My Wife.
