Bejoy Nambiar (born 12 April 1979) is an Indian film director, and screenwriter known for his work in Bollywood. He is mostly known for his critically acclaimed short films, Rahu and Reflections , starring Mohanlal. [2] He was the winner of Sony PIX Gateway to Hollywood, [3] as the best director judged by Ashok Amritraj, Rajat Kapoor and Anurag Basu. [4] He marked his feature film debut with the thriller Shaitan (2011). His second feature film was a anthology-drama film called David . [5] His latest Bollywood film was Taish (2020) which was also released as a Series on ZEE5. He also directed Wazir (2016), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. He has also directed a short video 'Sachinocalypse' for All India Bakchod.

Personal life

His mother tongue is Malayalam. [6] Nambiar was married to Juhi Babbar on 27 June 2007, [7] after a two-year courtship; the couple divorced in January 2009. [8] He then married his long-time girlfriend Sheetal Menon in a traditional Malayali wedding in Kerala on 27 December 2015. [9]

The script was written by Nambiar and Megha Ramaswamy. David is a 2013 Indian crime film directed by Bejoy Nambiar, starring Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vikram and Vinay Virmani in the title role, alongside Tabu, Monica Dogra, Lara Dutta and Isha Sharvani. The film was simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil under the same title with Jiiva replacing Virmani while Vikram's portion was almost entirely dubbed. The plot revolves around the lives of three different men named David, who are about to take a step which is going to change their lives forever. Both the Hindi and Tamil versions were released on 1 February 2013.

Wazir (transl. Vizier) is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language neo-noir action thriller film directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Written and edited by Abhijat Joshi and Chopra, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar alongside Aditi Rao Hydari, Manav Kaul and Neil Nitin Mukesh. John Abraham makes a special appearance. The film's dialogue and additional dialogue were written by Abhijeet Deshpande and Gazal Dhaliwal, respectively. The music was composed by several artists including Shantanu Moitra, Ankit Tiwari, Advaita, Prashant Pillai, Rochak Kohli and Gaurav Godkhindi, with the background score composed by Rohit Kulkarni. Sanu Varghese served as the film's cinematographer.

Taish is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language neo-noir action thriller drama film directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The film stars Pulkit Samrat, Jim Sarbh, Harshvardhan Rane, Kriti Kharbanda and Sanjeeda Shaikh. It is produced by Deepak Mukut, Bejoy Nambiar, and Nishant Pitti. The film was released on ZEE5 on 29 October 2020 as a feature film and six episodic series, simultaneously.

<i>Faraaz</i> (film) 2022 film by Hansal Mehta

Faraaz (transl.tall) is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language biographical action thriller film directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by T-Series and Benaras Media Works. The film supporting an ensemble cast has Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Aditya Rawal, Zahan Kapoor, Jatin Sarin, Pallak Lalwani, and six newcomers Jatin Sarin, Reshham Sahaani, Ninaad Bhatt, Harshal Pawar, Sachin Lalwani including Kapoor marking their debut. Based on actual event, it depicts the Holey Artisan Bakery, July 2016 Dhaka attack that shook Bangladesh. The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on 15 October 2022, and released in India on 3 February 2023. At 69th Filmfare Awards, the film received five nominations, including Best Film (Critics) and Best Supporting Actor (Rawal), and won Best Male Debut (Rawal).
