Marathi is an Indo-Aryan language spoken predominantly by around 83 million Marathi people of Maharashtra, India. It is the official language and co-official language in the Maharashtra and Goa states of Western India, respectively, and is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. There were 83 million speakers in 2011; Marathi ranks 19th in the list of most spoken languages in the world. Marathi has the third largest number of native speakers in India, after Hindi and Bengali. Marathi has some of the oldest literature of all modern Indian languages, dating from about 900 AD. Parbhani City in Maharashtra, India

Parbhani is a city in Maharashtra state of India. It is the administrative headquarters of Parbhani District. Parbhani is the fourth largest city in Marathwada region of Maharashtra after Aurangabad, Nanded and Latur. Parbhani is around 200 kilometres (120 mi) away from regional headquarters of Aurangabad while it is 491 km (305 mi) away from the state capital Mumbai.

<i>Loksatta</i>

Loksatta (Lōksattā) is a Marathi daily newspaper in Maharashtra, India. It is published by The Indian Express Group, and was launched on 14 January 1948. Loksatta is published out of Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, and Delhi.

He was awarded with Sahitya Akademi Award in 2016 for his short story collection Aalok. [2] Published in 2010, Alok is a collection of six stories that largely reflect rural life and people. [3]
