Ashot Shamkhali Bleyan (in Armenian Աշոտ Բլեյան, born in Yerevan, Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic on 4 September 1955), is an Armenian politician, educator, government minister and school master.

Bleyan graduated from Yerevan State University as a physicist. Together with Ashot Dabaghyan and Ashot Manucharyan, he co-founded School No. 183 now known as Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex in Yerevan, Armenia. [1] [2] Bleyan became the director of the school in 1989. After serving as vice president in the Yerevan Municipality's Executive Committee, he was elected to the Armenian Parliament in 1990.

He was appointed Armenian Education Minister serving 1994 to 1995 in the government headed by Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan. He became Vice Minister for the Ministry of Education and Science from 1995 to 1996.

Between 1994 and 2002, he served as president of the New Path (in Armenian «Նոր ուղի») political party. [3] In 1998 he was a candidate to the Armenian presidential elections gaining just 1,559 votes (or 0.1% of the total votes). He was imprisoned in 1999 (the charges were: civil and criminal offences, including embezzlement). His lawyer complained to the European Parliament that he has been beaten and placed in solitary confinement. [4]

Mkhitar Djrbashian was a notable Armenian mathematician, who made significant contributions to the constructive theory of functions, harmonic analysis, theory of analytic functions and a fundamental contribution to the classical theory of univalent analytic functions. He was born in Yerevan in a family of refugees from the town Van of Western Armenia escaping from the Armenian genocide of 1915 in Turkey. Mkhitar Djrbashian created some well-known mathematical theories and did everything possible for the development of Armenian Mathematical School to the high international standards in many branches of mathematics.

Foreign relations have reportedly always been strong between Armenia and Cyprus. Hayk Sargsi Kotanjian is an Armenian military diplomat, academic and political adviser. Kotanjian is the author of several monographs in Russian, English and German as well as numerous articles on crisis management, ethnic conflict, security, defense and strategic studies, and cyberpsychology. Since 2005, he has headed the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) in Yerevan and since 2016 has been the Head of the National Defense Research University. He also chairs the Political Science Association and the Board of Conferment of Academic Degrees in Political Science and International Relations of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

Vano Smbati Siradeghyan was an Armenian politician and writer. He held several high-ranked positions in the 1990s. He served as Minister of Internal Affairs from 1992 and 1996 and as Mayor of Yerevan from 1996 to 1998. After President Levon Ter-Petrosyan's resignation in February 1998, criminal charges were filed against Siradeghyan. He disappeared in April 2000 and was wanted by Interpol until his death in 2021 at the age of 74.

Ashot Manucharyan is an Armenian educator, democratic socialist politician, and one of the founding members of the Karabakh Committee. After the independence of Armenia from the Soviet Union in 1991, he served as Minister of Internal Affairs from 1991 to 1992 and as Levon Ter-Petrosyan's National Security Adviser until 1993. Together with Ashot Dabaghyan and Ashot Bleyan, Manucharyan co-founded School No. 183, later known as the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex, which stresses a humanistic approach to education.

Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex, is a state-owned school located in the Malatia-Sebastia District of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The school is named after the prominent Armenian scholar and theologian Mkhitar Sebastatsi of the 18th century.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan is the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia. He formerly served as Minister of Diaspora of Armenia from May 11, 2018, to January 11, 2019. On 9 December 2018, Hayrapetyan was elected as a member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the territorial electoral list of the electoral district #1 of the My Step Alliance of parties. Ashot Voskanyan is an Armenian philosopher, former diplomat and member of parliament.

Ashot Arsenyan: is an Armenian businessman and politician. He is the founder and director of the company “Jermuk Group” CJSC and served as a deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia during the 4th and 6th legislatures. Additionally, he served as mayor of the city of Jermuk from 1996 to 2002.
