Asif Ali Khan Durrani is the current Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran since 2016. [2] Earlier in his career,he served as ambassador to the UAE until 2016. [3] [4]
Durrani holds a Master's degree from the University of Balochistan in Quetta,and a Masters in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies,University of London. [5] [3] He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1986. He served in various diplomatic postings in New Delhi,Tehran,New York,Kabul and London. [5]
Kandahar is a city in Afghanistan,located in the south of the country on the Arghandab River,at an elevation of 1,010 m (3,310 ft). It is Afghanistan's second largest city after Kabul,with a population of about 614,118. It is the capital of Kandahar Province and the centre of the larger cultural region called Loy Kandahar. Kandahar is the founding city and spiritual center of the Taliban. Despite the capital of Afghanistan being Kabul,where the government administration is based,Kandahar is the seat of power in Afghanistan as the supreme leader and his spiritual advisers are based there. Kandahar has therefore been called the de facto capital of Afghanistan,though the Taliban maintain Kabul is the capital.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was an Emirati royal,politician,philanthropist and the founder of the United Arab Emirates. Zayed served as the governor of Eastern Region from 1946 until he succeeded Sheikh Shakhbut as the ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966,and then as the first president of the United Arab Emirates while he retained his position as Abu Dhabi's ruler from 1971 until his death in 2004. He was a member of the National Assembly between 1988 and 2018,and the Leader of the Opposition from 2004 to 2007. He is a supporter of the Taliban government in Afghanistan and has demanded for its international recognition. In the 1980s,he was part of the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD),which was formed to end the military regime of General Zia-ul-Haq.
Akram Khan Durrani is a Pakistani politician who was the Leader of the Opposition in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,in office from 2 October 2018 till 18 January 2023. He previously served as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2002 to 2007. He served as Federal Minister for Housing and Works,in the Abbasi cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018 and as the Federal Minister for Housing and Works in the third Sharif ministry from June 2013 to July 2017. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 from NA-26 (Bannu).
Saudi Arabia is not known to have a nuclear weapons program. From an official and public standpoint,Saudi Arabia has been an opponent of nuclear weapons in the Middle East,having signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,and is a member of the coalition of countries demanding a Nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East. Javed Malik is a diplomat,noted media personality and the President of the Diplomat Business Club based in London and Dubai. Malik served as Pakistan's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain between 2015 and 2018,and the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Trade and Investment between 2013 and 2018. Earlier,Malik also served as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large for Overseas Pakistanis between 2008 and 2011. Currently he is the President of International Diplomat Forum based out of London,Dubai and Islamabad.

In 1955,both Iraq and Pakistan joined the Baghdad Pact,a military alliance against the Soviet Union. However,when the king of Iraq was assassinated in 1958,Iraq pulled out of the Baghdad Pact,which was subsequently renamed to the Central Treaty Organization (CENTO). During the Ba'athist era,relations were at times cordial and sometimes hostile. However,following the 2003 invasion of Iraq that toppled the Ba'athist government,bilateral relations have stabilized;Pakistan has supported Iraq in its fight against the Islamic State and other militant groups active in the Iraqi conflict. Iraq maintains an embassy in Islamabad while Pakistan maintains an embassy in Baghdad.

Pakistan–United Arab Emirates relations refer to bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. These relations date back to the UAE's formation in 1971,and have since evolved into wide-ranging co-operation in various fields. Pakistan was the first country to extend recognition of the United Arab Emirates,while the UAE has previously been a donor of economic and financial assistance to Pakistan it has happened the other way too. UAE recognizes Pakistan's contribution to the evolution of key institutions in the Emirates while Pakistan recognizes UAE's investment in Pakistan's economy and infrastructure. Both countries' populations share the same faith and are majorly Muslim.

Pakistan Armed Forces deployments include all Pakistani military deployments that are stationed outside Pakistan and serving in other countries. The sixth largest military power in terms of active troops,Pakistan has an extensive history of overseas military presence,especially in the Middle East,where it has maintained military contingents,missions and battalions in several states. As part of its foreign policy efforts to expand its military relations and influence in the region,Pakistan signed defence protocols during the 1970s with several Arab countries including Saudi Arabia,Libya,Jordan,Iraq,Oman,the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait,under which members of the armed forces of these countries were imparted professional training by Pakistani advisers and military trainers. Saudi Arabia signed a bilateral agreement with Pakistan on defense cooperation;during that time,there were 50,000 to 60,000 Pakistani military personnel serving abroad with the largest number of these,about 20,000,deployed in Saudi Arabia.
Mariam Behnam was an Iranian-born Emirati writer,diplomat and women's rights activist. After graduating from high school and beginning her career as a teacher in Pakistan,she returned to Iran and began to work on social improvement projects first in Teheran and later in Bandar Abbas. In the 1960s,she returned to Pakistan and served for eight years as a cultural attachéestablishing cultural centers,libraries and promoting Iranian culture. She was honored with the Iranian Order of the Crown and a Pakistani badge of courage for remaining in the country and continuing her work during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965,when other diplomats fled the country. Returning to Iran in 1972,she worked with the Ministry of Arts and Culture in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province and later the Hormozgan Province developing programs to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the areas.
