Mufti Muhammad Aslam Razvi Quadri (1934-6 January 2012) [1] [2] also called Sher-e-Bihar was an Indian Sufi saint of Qadri-Razvi order belonging to the Barelvi movement of Sunni Islam. [3] He is buried in the Dargah Jamia Quadria Maksudpur in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, [4] [5] and an annual Urs-e-Sher-e-Bihar is celebrated on t1 Safar, the death anniversary of Razvi. [6] [7] [8] He was often called as Zalzaliya, means the one who survived the 1934 Earthquakes. [9] He was a student of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri, then Grand Mufti of India and elder son of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi. [10]

Early life

Aslam Razvi was born in 1934 to Muhammad Qasim in Mahvara village of Aurai Block in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar.

He studied under Maulvi Nisaruddin Attarvi and later became a student and mureed of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri and became his Khalifa.[ further explanation needed ] [11]

Teaching

Aslam Razvi started teaching in the Darul Uloom Manzar-e-Islam from 1955 on the order of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri, later he established Madrasa Jamia Qadiriya in Maksudpur, Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. [12]

He was died in Phulwari Sharif and laid to rest at Tamtam Padhav in Phulwari Sharif, Patna, Bihar. He is known to be the first sufi saint who came to Phulwari Sharif.

Khwaja Syed Data Asghar Ali Khan (1832-1903) reverentially called as Data Kambal Shah was an Indian Sufi saint of Chishty-Qadri order. His shrine Kambal Shah Dargah is located at Purani Bazar in Muzaffarpur district in the Indian state of Bihar. He is known to be the teacher of the Syed Shah Hayat Rahmani Qadri of Amthua Sharif Dargah.

Urs-e-Noori is a two-day annual festival commemorating the death anniversary of the death of Mufti Azam-e-Hind Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri, younger son of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi. It is celebrated annually on 13th and 14th of Muharram month per Islamic calender. It is celebrated since 1981 at the Bareilly Sharif Dargah.

Mufti Mohammad Mahmood Ahmed Qadri was the Grand Mufti of Madhya Pradesh. He belonged to the Qadiriyya silsila and was connected with the Barelvi movement of Sunni Islam. His son, Maulana Mohammad Hamid Ahmed Qadri is the Grand Mufti of Madhya Pradesh, from 2018. He issued a fatwa against Muslims who participated in the Narmada Yatra in Madhya Pradesh. He was awarded by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for his social work in 2011.

Ashfaque Hussain Naeemi was the Grand Mufti of Rajasthan. He belonged to Qadiriyya Silsila of Sufism and a leader of the Barelvi movement of Sunni Islam in Rajasthan. He was the founder of Madrasa Darul Uloom Ishaquiya, Ashfaqiya Institute and Ishaqiya Senior Secondary School in Jodhpur. He was the mureed of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri and Mukhtar Ashraf. He was succeeded by Sher Muhammad Razvi as the Grand Mufti of Rajasthan. He is buried in Khanqah Ashfaqiya, Chokha, Rajasthan.

Urs-e-Ajmali is a two-day annual commemorative festival celebrated on the death anniversary of Mufti Ajmal Shah Quadri, the founder of Madrasa Ajmal-ul-Uloom. It is celebrated on 29th Rabi'al Thani every year at the Khanquah-e-Ajmali in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.

Urs-e-Qasmi is a three-day commemorative festival celebrated on the death anniversary of the Syed Shah Abul Qasim Ismail Hasan, a Sufi saint of Qadiriyya Barkaatiya order, it is celebrated at the Khanquah-e-Barkaatiya in Marehra Sharif, Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. Urs-e-Sher-e-Bihar is a commemorative festival organized on the death anniversary of Mufti Aslam Razvi, a Sufi saint of Qadiriyya Razviyya order at Dargah-e-Sher-e-Bihar, Maksoodpur in Aurai, Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. The Urs is celebrated on 11 Safar, as per Islamic calender. Mufti Aslam Razvi was died in January 2012 and the urs festival is celebrated from December 2012.

Shahji Muhammad Sher Miyan (1786-1906) was an Indian Sufi saint of Qadiriyya Naqshbandiya order. He is buried in the Dargah-e-Shahji, Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh and an annual Urs-e-Shahji is celebrated. He took bait to Syed Ahmed Ali, a Sufi saint of Naqshbandia order and became a Khalifa of Ali.

He served as a Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from 1976 to 1980 representing Indian National Congress, but resigned before term end due to 1980 Moradabad riots.
