Astaghfaar is a TV show which aired on Hero TV in 2012. The series was hosted by Veena Malik and aired on weekdays at the 8 pm timeslot PKT in the Islamic month of Ramadan.
The show has been a subject of controversies even before its initiation. The channel previously planned to cancel the show following a public outcry but later decided to air the first six episodes to gauge the reaction of the viewers. [1] Unexpectedly the show proved to be a TRP churner and generated a hospitable reception from the audience. [2] [3]
The show peaked at a near 30 million viewership on 13 August 2012 which marked the episode as one of the most-watched television telecast in Pakistan. [4] [5] [6] After the overwhelming response from the audience the show was reinstated to air for its complete full season. Malik on such an unpredictable reaction stated "It’s a great feeling that people across the globe have appreciated my effort and also, accepted my show. The show has touched the heart of people which is gauged with the TRP ratings". [7] [8]

Zahida Malik, better known as Veena Malik, is a Pakistani actress, TV host, reality television personality and model who has appeared in Pakistani and Bollywood films. Veena made her film debut in 2000 with Sajjad Gul's Tere Pyar Mein. Kis Din mera Viyah Howay Ga is a Pakistani sitcom series first aired on Geo TV in August 2011. The series was first directed by Muhammad Iftikhar Iffi and starred Faisal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam, Jana Malik, and Sangeeta. The plot revolves around the Chaudhary family who live in a mansion together in a small village near Lahore, Pakistan. The second season ended on 23 August 2012, after a decline in viewership, but it was renewed and the third season started on 11 July 2013.

Diyar-e-Dil is a Pakistani television drama serial, that originally aired on Hum TV from 17 March 2015 to 27 October 2015, consisting of a total of 33 episodes.Diyar-e-Dil follows the lives of a dysfunctional family led by Agha Jaan and his grandchildren, Wali and Faarah. The story is told in a heavily serialized manner. It revolves around the lives of Wali and Faarah, who were forced to commit to each other for the cause of reuniting their family, that fell apart long ago because of Agha Jaan's eldest son Behroze, when he called off his long engagement to marry his late-love interest.
Udaari is an Urdu and Punjabi language social Pakistani television series that was created and co-produced by Kashf Foundation and Momina Duraid for Hum TV. It focused on the social and economic marginalisation of citizens in Pakistani rural society alongside highlighting deeply rooted issues such as child sexual abuse, gender discrimination and violence against women. It was originally aired from 10 April 2016 to 4 September 2016. The show is written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin. The plot of Udaari centres on the families of two Punjabi villagers Sheedan and Sajida. Sheedan faces discrimination as she is in the performing arts and is looked down upon as belonging to the "Marasis" which is a derogatory term when referring to musicians. Whereas Sajda is a widow and a struggling single mother working as a maid for her daughter's upbringing, she decides to marry Imtiaz for her daughter's wellbeing. Story takes a turn when Sheedan's daughter Ameera accuses Imtiaz of sexually harassing her.
