Astana International Exchange

The Astana International Exchange (AIX) was established in 2017 as part of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). AIX was founded to develop public equity and debt markets in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region. As the name suggests, AIX is based in the Kazakh capital, Astana. AIX is regulated by the Astana Financial Services Authority, an independent regulatory authority established within the AIFC. [1]

AIX shareholders include AIFC, Goldman Sachs, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and China's Silk Road Fund. Nasdaq NDAQ is behind the AIX trading platform. [1]

Membership

The exchange is a member of the World Federation of Exchanges and the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges. [2]
