The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and officially known as the XVIII Asian Games, was a continental multi-sport event that was held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang.
The 2022 Asian Games, also known as XIX Asiad, will be a multi-sport event celebrated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China from 10 to 25 September 2022. Hangzhou will be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games, after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.

Vietnam competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Cambodia competed in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. This event marks the 12th Asian Games appearance for Cambodia since making their debut in 1954.
Brunei Darussalam participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. The contingent comprises 15 athletes and 16 officials led by Umi Kalthum binti Haji Abdul Karim as the Chef de Mission. Brunei wushu star Basma Lachkar was given the honor to be the country’s flag-bearer at the opening ceremony.
