Serkan Yıldırım was initially prohibited from competing due to his T12 classification being under review by World Para Athletics prior to the event. An injunction was approved by a Bonn regional court on 30 August 2024, allowing Yıldırım to compete. On 3 September 2024. This injunction was lifted on appeal by World Para Athletics, leading to his disqualification. [7] [8]
Zac Shaw is a British Paralympic visually impaired sprinter who competes in the T12 classification. At the age of nine he became afflicted with stargardt disease. He made his first Great Britain squad for the IPC Athletics World Championships in 2015 . Shaw made the Great Britain squad for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris after just missing out on both the 2016 Summer Paralympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Salum Ageze Kashafali is a Norwegian Paralympic athlete who competes in the T12 classification of sprinting events. He is a Paralympic champion and silver medallist, two-time world champion and a European champion in the 100 metres. Kashafali won the gold medal in the men's 100 metres T12 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and the silver medal in the men's 100 metres T13 event at the 2024 Summer Paralympics.

The Men's 100 metres (T12) at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, as part of the athletics programme, took place in the Alexander Stadium on 3 and 4 August 2022.
The Men's 100m athletics events for the 2024 Summer Paralympics will take place at the Stade de France from 30 August to 7 September, 2024. A total of 16 events will be contested over this distance. T11 and T12 events will be hosted over three rounds, to accommodate sighted guides, while the T51 event will be held as a straight final. All other 100 metre events will consist of a first round and a final.
Serkan Yıldırım is an Iranian-born Turkish athlete. He has competed at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games competing in the 100 m and 400 m sprint events, as well as being a World Champion and World Record holder in the T12 classification.
