The AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus is a 323-bed hospital located in the Pomona section of Galloway Township, New Jersey, United States. It opened in 1975 and is located on the campus of Stockton University. The Mainland Campus experienced a 44% growth in admissions from 1986 to 1992. From 19752023, the Mainland Campus adjoined the Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation, which was situated in the same lot.

Contents

The Mainland Campus completed a $16 million modernization and renovation project in early 1992. Another expansion is in progress which started construction in 2022, with a planned completion date in 2025. [1]

History

The Mainland Campus is the Galloway branch of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In 1975, when the campus opened, the Atlantic City hospital was known as "Atlantic City Medical Center".

The high school is located in Linwood. Mainland Regional High School has been recognized by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest honor that an American school can achieve. The school is the only facility of the Mainland Regional High School District.

The Bacharach Institute also included a subacute rehabilitation center called Renaissance Pavilion with 29 beds. Bacharach treated patients after strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and other acute illnesses or traumas. In addition to the Bacharach Institute and Renaissance Pavilion in Pomona, the Bacharach Institute had fifteen physical and occupational therapy centers in South Jersey.

UPMC Altoona, located in downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania, is a 380-bed, non-profit, private community hospital system that contains more than 20 affiliated health care companies and functions as the regional referral center and tertiary hub of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Founded in 1883 as to serve the needs of the area and the Pennsylvania Railroad, the hospital was known for most of its history simply as Altoona Hospital. Atlantic Health System is one of the largest non-profit health care networks in New Jersey. It employs 18,000 people and more than 4,800 affiliated physicians. The system offers more than 400 sites of care, including six hospitals: Chilton Medical Center, Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Hackettstown Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center, Newton Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center.
