Audrey Napoleon is an American electronic music producer, [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] DJ and entrepreneur. [7]

Career

Napoleon's career began in the Los Angeles club scene in 2008.

Named one of the 15 most important women in EDM by Marie Claire, [8] [ failed verification ] after 3 years on the scene, Napoleon reached multi-platinum status with hit single written for the 'Reach the Sunrise' Heineken campaign [9] [10] [11] that aired globally from 2011–2014. The campaign was projected to over 1 million people on New Year's Eve 2012 in Times Square. [12] [13]

After her release of Ornamental Egos, Napoleon became one of the top 10 female DJ/Producers touring the world. [14] Napoleon followed this with the release of the single "Dope a la Mode", which was featured as one of the Top 10 Tracks of the year by DJ Mag. [15]

Napoleon produced three original tracks for Swedish commercial director Fredrik Bond's Sundance Award-winning film, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman in 2013, starring Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood. [16]

An original song from Napoleon's Ornamental Egos EP, "Only You", was featured in the season finale of Naomi Campbell's television series The Face . [17]

Napoleon has performed with artists such as The Cure, Skrillex, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Nero, Steve Angello and Tiesto at some of the world's largest music festivals, including Coachella, EDC, and Escape from Wonderland, as well performing at the American Music Awards and the Grammy Awards. [18]

Between 2011 and 2013, Napoleon created a short film for her single "Poison", co-directing the styling and makeup. [19] [20]

In 2012, Napoleon collaborated with The Rodnik Brand. Napoleon starred in the campaign, as well as advising on Creative and Art Direction. This campaign was featured in Italian Vogue [21] and Nylon magazine. [22]

Between 2013 and 2015, Napoleon starred in award-winning V-Moda M100 headphones campaign, advised in Creative Direction as well as Makeup and Styling. This campaign was featured in American Vogue . [23]

In 2014, Napoleon was unveiled as Ardency Inn's new eyeliner headliner. The Modster eyeliner kits included Ardency Inn's eyeliner in black, blue, and gold. With her Ardency Inn campaign, Napoleon joined only Nervo as dance music artists with cosmetics contracts (the duo has been signed with Cover Girl since 2012). [24]

Hardcore is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany in the early 1990s. It is distinguished by faster tempos and a distorted sawtooth kick, the intensity of the kicks and the synthesized bass, the rhythm and the atmosphere of the themes, the usage of saturation and experimentation close to that of industrial dance music. It would spawn subgenres such as gabber.

Michael Stipe claims the song was inspired by the band New York Dolls, who, in his opinion, "knew how to exaggerate a song, to make it sound really sleazy and over the top." This was also one of the first songs that surfaced from Stipe after the writer's block that hounded him after the death of his friend, actor River Phoenix.

In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza is the sixth album in the In Search of Sunrise series mixed by trance DJ/producer Tiësto, released on 7 September 2007 in the Netherlands and 16 October 2007 in the United States as a double disc album. This information was confirmed on 31 July 2007 on Tiësto's website. Many file-sharing websites, earlier in 2007, released a fake torrent of In Search of Sunrise 6, labeled In Search of Sunrise 6 - London, which even included a CD cover. This was quickly noted as a fake as information of the CD had not been released via Tiësto's website nor the In Search of Sunrise series website. A special release party was held at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on 3 November 2007. Like previous In Search of Sunrise albums, this album contains a special slipcase. The album picture was taken by Stephanie Pistel. The compilation was awarded in the 2008 WMC Awards in Miami, it won for "Best Full Length DJ Mix CD".

<i>Selected Ambient Works 85–92</i> 1992 studio album by Aphex Twin

Selected Ambient Works 85–92 is the debut studio album by the electronic music producer and DJ Aphex Twin. It was released on 9 November 1992 through Apollo Records, a subsidiary of the Belgian label R&S Records. The album consists of ambient techno tracks recorded onto cassette reputedly dating as far back as 1985, when James was fourteen years old. On release it received widespread acclaim and entered the UK Dance Albums Chart at No. 6 on 26 December 1992.

Patrick Owen Baril, professionally known as Statik Selektah, is an American record producer, disc jockey (DJ) and radio personality originally from the Boston, Massachusetts area. He is also the founder of Showoff Records. In 2010, he formed the hip hop group 1982, alongside American rapper Termanology. He has resided in New York City since 2004.

Gabber is a style of electronic dance music and a subgenre of hardcore techno, as well as the surrounding subculture. The music is more commonly referred to as hardcore, which is characterised by fast beats, distorted and heavy kickdrums, with dark themes and samples. This style was developed in Rotterdam and Amsterdam in the 1990s by producers like Marc Acardipane, Paul Elstak, DJ Rob, and The Prophet, forming record labels such as Rotterdam Records, Mokum Records, Pengo Records and Industrial Strength Records.

Daley Padley, also known as Hot Since 82, is a British DJ, house music producer and DJ Awards winner currently based in Holmfirth, UK. He has been releasing music under the Hot Since 82 moniker since 2012.

The Martinez Brothers are a duo of disc jockeys, music producers, and remixers from The Bronx, New York known for their long-term residencies at clubs in Ibiza.
