Mau5trap (stylized as mau5trap; pronounced "mousetrap") is a Canadian independent record label founded in 2007 by electronic music producer Deadmau5. The label was formerly a vanity label, hosting releases through labels such as Ultra Music, Virgin Records, and Astralwerks.

In 2007, Mau5trap was founded by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman). The label's first release was Zimmerman's "Faxing Berlin", also released by Play Records and Cinnamon Flava. The second artist on the label was Canadian DJ Glenn Morrison, which Zimmerman later revealed to have ghost produced for. [1] [2] In 2008, after more artists were signed to moderate success, Mau5trap partnered with Ultra Records and released Zimmerman's third studio album, Random Album Title to commercial success. [3]
In 2010, Mau5trap signed American producer Skrillex, and released his second EP Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites in partnership with Big Beat Records. [4] [5]
In 2012, Mau5trap signed English hip hop group Foreign Beggars and released their third studio album The Uprising , Moguai released his second studio album Mpire, Noisia released a special edition of Split the Atom, and Mau5trap debuted the compilation series We Are Friends. [6]
In 2013, following Zimmerman's departure from Ultra Records, Mau5trap ended their partnership with the former partner label. [7] In June 2013, Mau5trap briefly partnered with Astralwerks, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. [7] In 2015, Mau5trap became a fully independent record label with music rights and publishing managed through Kobalt Music Group. [8]
In 2016, Zimmerman's eighth studio album, W:/2016Album/ , became Mau5trap's first fully independent album release. [9] In 2017, Mau5trap also independently released the debut studio album by Canadian music producer Rezz, titled Mass Manipulation . [10]
In 2017, Mau5trap celebrated its tenth anniversary, and released a thirty-three–track compilation album titled Mau5trap Ten Year Anniversary. [11] [12] [13]

"4ware" is an instrumental by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5. It is the first track on his eighth studio album, W:/2016Album/. It was premiered on BBC Radio 1 in an interview with British DJ Pete Tong on November 4, 2016. Despite initial rumours, the song was never officially released as a single. Following the release of W:/2016Album/, "4ware" charted in the US, peaking at 22 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart.

Where's the Drop? is an orchestral compilation album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5. The album comprises re-imagined orchestral arrangements of his previous work, in collaboration with Gregory Reveret. It was released through Mau5trap, initially exclusively on the music streaming service Tidal on March 30, 2018. The album was released on other digital download services and on vinyl on June 29, 2018. A remix album, containing remixes of the tracks by various other artists, entitled Here's the Drop!, was released on October 4, 2019.
Mau5ville: Level 1 is an extended play (EP) and compilation album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5. It was released on July 13, 2018, through his record label Mau5trap. The release features "Monophobia", a collaboration with Australian singer and musician Rob Swire, with remixes, as well as original songs by DJs Getter and GTA. Two follow-up EPs, Mau5ville: Level 2 and Mau5ville: Level 3, were released in November 2018 and February 2019 respectively.

Matt Lange is an American DJ and producer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for co-producing "Goodbye" with DJ Glenn Morrison, His use of modular synthesis and isorhythms in his musical productions have brought him notice. Lange produced progressive house and deep house early in his career, before moving into techno production from 2015 onwards. Lange found his own label, Isorhythm, in 2011 as a platform to release his own music. He released his debut studio album, Ephemera, in 2015 through Mau5trap, which was later followed up with Isolated in 2020.
