The track featured on Deadmau5's greatest hits album, 5 Years of Mau5; a live version was featured on the iTunes version of Album Title Goes Here; and an orchestral version was featured on Where's the Drop?. Upon release, the song received widespread critical acclaim.

The song made its first appearance in the video game Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit in November 2010, months before the song was released as a single. The single EP featured several remixes by Skrillex, Laidback Luke, Alex Gaudino and Congo Rock. The Skrillex remix went on to become a hit in its own right, remaining on Billboard's Dance chart for over two years after its release and winning a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording. It was released on November 24, 2014, in celebration of the five-year anniversary of his label, Mau5trap. Like his previous studio album, While(1<2) the retrospective was released in double disc format. The first disc acts as a greatest hits album encompassing highlights from the past five years of his back catalog, while the second disc serves as a remix album featuring exclusive and new remixes from various artists. The album artwork features a combination of the 'Mau5heads' used in the cover art of his first four studio albums released through the label: Random Album Title, For Lack of a Better Name, 4×4=12 and Album Title Goes Here.

Mau5ville: Level 1 is an extended play (EP) and compilation album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5. It was released on July 13, 2018, through his record label Mau5trap. The release features "Monophobia", a collaboration with Australian singer and musician Rob Swire, with remixes, as well as original songs by DJs Getter and GTA. Two follow-up EPs, Mau5ville: Level 2 and Mau5ville: Level 3, were released in November 2018 and February 2019 respectively.

"Monophobia" is a song by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5 featuring Australian singer Rob Swire. It was released on July 13, 2018, as the first track on Deadmau5's EP and compilation album Mau5ville: Level 1. Prior to its release on the EP, an orchestral rendition of the song was featured on Deadmau5's Where's the Drop?. On release, the song charted on the US Dance/Electronic Songs chart, peaking number 19. A music video for the song was released on Deadmau5's YouTube channel on July 16, 2018.
