Mau5ville: Level 1 (stylized as mau5ville: Level 1) is an extended play (EP) and compilation album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5. [1] [2] [3] It was released on July 13, 2018, through his record label Mau5trap. [4] The release features "Monophobia", a collaboration with Australian singer and musician Rob Swire, with remixes, as well as original songs by DJs Getter and GTA. [5] Two follow-up EPs, Mau5ville: Level 2 and Mau5ville: Level 3 , were released in November 2018 and February 2019 respectively.
Mau5ville: Level 1's release date was first revealed through various store pages on July 3, 2018. [6] [7] The cover art was also uploaded to Deadmau5's Twitter account. [8] However, the EP was officially announced on July 12, 2018, the day before its final release on July 13, 2018, which is, coincidentally, Zimmerman's name day. [9] The Beatport exclusive version of the EP was released with two additional bonus mixes of "Monophobia". [10] The EP is named after Deadmau5's former online server on the sandbox video game Minecraft . [11]
The opening track, "Monophobia", serves as the return of long-time collaborator Rob Swire from Pendulum and Knife Party, who had previously collaborated with Deadmau5 on his song "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" in 2009. [lower-alpha 1] [12] The song was also remixed by other artists who have released on the record label Mau5trap, including producers Attlas, Latroit, and Rinzen. A music video for "Monophobia" was released on Deadmau5's YouTube channel on July 16, 2018. [13] [14]

Matt Lange is an American DJ and producer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for co-producing "Goodbye" with DJ Glenn Morrison, His use of modular synthesis and isorhythms in his musical productions have brought him notice. Lange produced progressive house and deep house early in his career, before moving into techno production from 2015 onwards. Lange found his own label, Isorhythm, in 2011 as a platform to release his own music. He released his debut studio album, Ephemera, in 2015 through Mau5trap, which was later followed up with Isolated in 2020.
Graham Anthony Goodwin, also known as Sian, is an Irish electronic dance music producer, DJ, visual artist, and record label owner. He founded Octopus Recordings label in 2008. He has released records on Diynamic, Cocoon Recordings, and Drumcode Records music labels, and produced remixes for Jan Blomqvist, Oliver Heldens, and Deadmau5, among others. Goodwin hosts a show on his label’s Octopus Radio, appears on BBC Northern Ireland radio, the Sirius XM BPM station, and has been featured on Apple Music.
