Children's television series are television programs designed specifically for children. They are typically characterised by easy-going content devoid of sensitive or adult themes and are normally broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake, immediately before and after school schedules generally start in the country where they air. Educational themes are also prevalent, as well as the transmission of cautionary tales and narratives that teach problem-solving methods in some fashion or another, such as social disputes.

Though neither universally kind nor moderate, humorous Canadian literature has often been branded by author Dick Bourgeois-Doyle as "gentle satire," evoking the notion embedded in humorist Stephen Leacock's definition of humour as "the kindly contemplation of the incongruities of life and the artistic expression thereof."
Nanalan' is a Canadian children's television series created by Jamie Shannon and Jason Hopley. It began in 1999 as a series of three-minute shorts and later ran for a season of full-length episodes spanning 21 minutes each. It chronicles the small-scale adventures and discoveries of a three-year-old puppet girl named Mona in her grandmother Nana's backyard. The title is a contraction of the phrase "Nana Land," referring to the setting.
Rondell Jerome Sheridan is an American actor, comedian, and television director, best known for his role of Victor Baxter in the Disney Channel sitcom That's So Raven, as well as its later spin-offs Cory in the House and Raven's Home. Sheridan is an alumnus of Marquette University. Sheridan also starred as Dr. Ron Aimes on the NBC/UPN sitcom Minor Adjustments.
Deon Richmond is an American actor from New York City who is best known for his recurring roles as Rudy Huxtable's friend Kenny on the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show and Jordan Bennett on the ABC/The WB sitcom Sister, Sister. He has been nominated for two Young Artist Awards, winning one in 1989.
Jayne Eastwood, also credited as Jane Easton or Jane Eastwood, is a Canadian actress and comedian. She is best known for her film roles as Anna-Marie Biddlecoff in Finders Keepers (1984), Judy the Waitress in The Santa Clause (1994), Mrs. White in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding franchise (2002-2023), Mrs. Borusewicz in Chicago (2002), Lucy Decker in Welcome to Mooseport (2004) and Miss Wimsey in Hairspray (2007).
CBC Kids is a Canadian children's block on CBC Television. The block was launched as Hodge Podge Lodge in 1987 and contains programming targeted at children. The block airs on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to noon and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
ABC Kids is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's part-time channel, broadcasting shows between the hours of 5 am and 7:30 pm for children 6 years old and younger, including an upper preschool audience. It shares the same bandwidth as ABC Family which broadcasts outside ABC Kids' scheduled hours. It has an educational program for children ages 2 to 13 called "ABC Reading Eggs" for Australia, internationally called "Reading Eggs" and owned by Edmentum.
Harrison Houde is a Canadian actor, producer, director, YouTuber, and musician. He is best known for his first acting role as Darren Walsh in the 2010 American film Diary of a Wimpy Kid and for his role as 'Bowie' in the sitcom Some Assembly Required. He has also composed original scores, which have aired on TV internationally, and is a synth-wave music producer under the alias Tokyo Rat. He is the son of fellow actor Serge Houde.
The Canadian Screen Award for Best Pre-School Program or Series is an annual television award, presented by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to honour the year's best television programming for preschool children produced in Canada.
The Adventures of Napkin Man! is a children's television series created by Tone Thyne and Josh Selig. It premiered in 2013 on CBC Television, as part of the Kids' CBC block. Mixing live action with animation, the series stars Yannick Bisson as Mr. Anthony, a preschool teacher who writes and illustrates stories featuring Napkin Man, a superhero figure, to teach his students how to handle difficult emotions.
Aunty Donna is an Australian surrealist comedy group formed in Melbourne in 2011. The group consists of performers and writers Mark Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane, alongside writer and director Sam Lingham, director Max Miller and composer Thomas Zahariou. Their work spans numerous live shows, a YouTube channel, a podcast, a studio album, the Netflix series Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun, the ABC Australia series Aunty Donna's Coffee Cafe and the picture book Always Room for Christmas Pud.
Sort Of is a Canadian television sitcom, released on CBC Television beginning in 2021. Created by Bilal Baig and Fab Filippo, the series stars Baig as Sabi Mehboob, a non-binary millennial trying to balance their roles as a child of Pakistani immigrant parents, a bartender at an LGBTQ bookstore and café, and a caregiver to the young children of a professional couple.
Happy House of Frightenstein is a Canadian animated television series for preschoolers, which premiered in 2021. A reboot of the 1970s children's series The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, the series focuses on the childhood adventures of five of the original show's main characters as children.

Aunty Donna's Coffee Cafe is an Australian absurdist sitcom television show on ABC iView, created by and starring the comedy group Aunty Donna and premiering on 12 April 2023. It follows the three main members of Aunty Donna running a trendy cafe in the Melbourne laneways, and is the second television series by the troupe after Netflix's Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun.
Khalilah Brooks is a Canadian children's educator, most noted as the creator and star of the television series Aunty B's House.
Ken Cuperus is a Canadian television writer and producer, who is a partner with his wife Michelle Melanson in the children's television production firm Headspinner Productions. He is most noted as a writer of the children's television series Happy House of Frightenstein, for which he and writing partner Sandy Jobin-Bevans won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing in an Animated Program or Series at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022 and Best Writing in a Preschool Program or Series at the 11th Canadian Screen Awards in 2023.
