Automation Records is a Seattle based independent record label. The label's first release was in 2003 and as of 2013 the label has over fifty releases.

Automation Records roster of artists include Abiku, Cex, Curse, DJ Strapon, Forest Kingdom, Gonken, Hopen, Kid Camaro, Mochipet, Mr. Messiah, nonnon, Producer Snafu, Red Squirrels, Graz, and Uglyhead.

History

From 2003 to 2005 Automation Records existed in relative obscurity releasing only a handful of CDs by local artists and only receiving write-ups in local papers.

In 2006 they released the album “Actual Fucking” by the artist Cex. This album received widespread print coverage and charted on the CMJ RPM charts for 6 weeks, peaking at #11. [1] In addition to the Cex album they also released the albums “Location” by Abiku, and “From Time To Time” by Uglyhead which received additional reviews nationwide.

2007 saw the label releasing companion EPs to their 2006 albums. Cex released a remix EP titled “Exotical Privates” which contained four remixes from his album “Actual Fucking”, Uglyhead released two EPs for their tour titled “Inward” and “Outward”, Abiku released a 7” record and the label expanded their roster with another 7” from the artist Red Squirrels titled “Acicorn Twirl”. Both 7” were reviewed in the Wire (magazine). [2] The Cex EP received heavy rotation on KEXP was one of KEXP DJ Larry Metro’s “Top 10 of 2007”. [3]

Grand Buffet American musical group

Grand Buffet is a hip-hop funk duo from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, made up of Jackson O'Connell-Barlow and Jarrod Weeks. Their music is a unique brand of humorous, often satirical rap. Human Imprint

Human Imprint Recordings is an American drum and bass record label founded by Damian Higgins in New York City in 2002. Human began as a subsidiary of System Recordings and is mostly known for high energy releases in subgenres including techstep, hardstep and darkstep. In July 2009, Human Imprint parted ways amicably with System Recordings, and Dieselboy created the SubHuman : Human Imprint for dubstep and electro releases.

Naeem Juwan, better known by his stage name Spank Rock, is an American rapper and songwriter from Baltimore. He rose to fame with his 2006 album YoYoYoYoYo, which was produced by former group member Alex Epton (XXXChange). A harbinger of post-millennial alternative rap, the duo became known for its mixing of disparate hip hop and club genres, including Baltimore club, Miami bass, electro music and rock.

The Lonely Forest is an American indie rock band from Anacortes, Washington with two EPs and four studio albums. Far East Movement is an American hip hop and electronic music group based in Los Angeles. The group formed in 2003 and as of August 2018 consists of Kev Nish, Prohgress and DJ Virman. Their 2010 single, "Like a G6", featuring pop-rap duo The Cataracs and singer Dev hit number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and on the iTunes chart in late October 2010, making them the first Asian-American group to earn a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Among their other chart toppers are: "Rocketeer" featuring Ryan Tedder of One Republic, "Turn Up the Love", and their 2012 remix to the song "Get Up (Rattle)" by the Bingo Players, also hit number one on the UK charts.
