Ustad Alla Rakha Qureshi, popularly known as Alla Rakha, was an Indian tabla player who specialized in Hindustani classical music. He was a frequent accompanist of sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar and was largely responsible for introducing Tabla to the western audience.

Konnakol is the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Carnatic music. Konnakol is the spoken component of solkattu, which refers to a combination of konnakol syllables spoken while simultaneously counting the tala (meter) with the hand. It is comparable in some respects to bol in Hindustani music, but allows the composition, performance or communication of rhythms. A similar concept in Hindustani classical music is called padhant.

Swara Samrat festival is a four-day annual festival of Indian classical music and dance held during the winters in Kolkata, India. The festival is dedicated to Swara Samrat Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Indian Classical Music and Dance Legends such as Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pandit Jasraj, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Aashish Khan, Dr. Girija Devi, Begum Parveen Sultana, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, Guru Karaikudi Mani, Ustad Rashid Khan, Shankar Mahadevan, Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee, Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Pandit Kushal Das, Pandit Rajendra Gangani, Guru Sujata Mohapatra, Pandit Subhankar Banerjee, Pandit Yogesh Samsi, Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Pandit Tanmoy Bose and Kaushiki Chakraborty are some of the artists who have previously performed in this festival.
The Angstones were a Canadian band based in Ottawa, Ontario. Their music combined European and American folk music with humorous lyrics and jazz rhythms. The lineup consisted of Peter Kiesewalter on reeds and accordion, Kurt Walther on guitar, Rob Frayne on sax, John Geggie on bass, and Ian Mackie on drums. Members of this band also performed with Fat Man Waving and Chelsea Bridge.

Alvvays is a Canadian indie pop band formed in 2011, originating from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and currently based in Toronto, Ontario. It consists of Molly Rankin, Kerri MacLellan (keyboards), Alec O'Hanley (guitars), Abbey Blackwell (bass), and Sheridan Riley (drums). Ayrad is a Canadian world music group from Montreal, who play a modern spin on traditional Moroccan music. Led by vocalist Hamza Abouabdelmajid, band members include Annick Beauvais on oboe, bass and reita; Gabriel Brochu-Lajoie on bass and double bass; Anit Ghosh on violin; Kattam Laraki-Côté on percussion; and Sylvain Plante on drums.

Melody Diachun is a Canadian singer and songwriter and Canadian National Jazz Awards' nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year in 2009. Recordings include "Get Back to the Groove", which charted at No. 9 on !earshot's National Jazz Chart, "Melody Diachun EQ" and "Metaphora" by Altered Laws featuring The Babayaga String Quartet and Melody Diachun which won 'Outstanding Jazz Album' of 2008 at the Western Canadian Music Awards and was nominated for a JUNO for 'Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year' in 2008. In 2018, Diachun was nominated for 'Artist of the Year' and her single "That's What Delete Is For" was nominated for 'Best Blues Song' at the 2018 Kootenay Music Awards. In 2019, Diachun was nominated for 'Artist of the Year', her song "Get Back to the Groove" was nominated in the Rhythm And Blues category, and her song "High Definition Love" was nominated in the Pop category at the 2019 Kootenay Music Awards.
Roberto Occhipinti is a Canadian jazz bassist and composer. He is most noted as a two-time Juno Award nominee for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year, receiving nominations at the Juno Awards of 2006 for his album Yemaya and at the Juno Awards of 2009 for A Bend in the River.
