Awadh Samman

The Awadh Samman is an award constituted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, to honor exceptional and meritorious contribution in their chosen field/profession. Prominent recipients of award include Naushad, Lata Mangeshkar, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Amitabh Bachchan, Ashok Kumar Udit Narayan and A R Rahman. [1]

The Screen Awards was an annual awards ceremony held in India honouring professional excellence in Bollywood. The nomination and award selection is done by a panel of distinguished professionals from the industry. The awards were introduced by the Screen film magazine of The Indian Express Group in 1995. <i>The Chess Players</i> (film) 1977 film by Satyajit Ray

Shatranj Ke Khilari, also subtitled and later internationally released with the translated title The Chess Players, is a 1977 Indian film written and directed by Satyajit Ray, based on Munshi Premchand's short story of the same name. Amjad Khan plays the role of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, Nawab of Awadh, and Richard Attenborough enacts the role of General James Outram. The main cast includes actors Sanjeev Kumar and Saeed Jaffrey as the chess players. It also has Shabana Azmi, Farooque Shaikh, Farida Jalal, David Abraham, and Tom Alter. It has Amitabh Bachchan as the narrator. This is the only full-length Hindi feature film of filmmaker Satyajit Ray. Rajesh Khanna was an Indian actor, politician and film producer who is known for his work in Hindi cinema. During his career, he appeared in more than 180 films. He starred in 15 consecutive solo hit films from 1969 to 1971. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor three times and the BFJA Awards for Best Actor (Hindi) four times, received the Filmfare Special Award in 1991, and was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. Khanna has been called the "First Superstar" of Indian cinema and was the highest paid Indian actor from 1970 to 1987 whereas Amitabh Bachchan shared the same tag with Khanna from 1980 to 1987.

The 10th International Indian Film Academy Awards were a major film awards ceremony honoring the best Bollywood films of 2008. The ceremony was held in The Venetian Macao, Macau from 11 June to 13 June 2009. The choice of Macau as host city was considered a well-planned decision, aimed at reducing tensions between India and China, as well as to end the "deadlock" between the two countries over the issue of exchange of cinema. The ceremony was hosted by Boman Irani, Ritesh Deshmukh and Lara Dutta.

Anil Rastogi is an Indian theatre, television and film actor. He is known for his roles in Udaan, Ishaqzaade and Na Bole Tum Naa Maine Kuch Kaha.

Yash Bharati Award is the highest civilian award of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Instituted in 1994, it is awarded to those personalities whose contribution is remarkable in the field of literature, social work, medicine, film, science, journalism, handicrafts, culture, education, music, drama, sports, industry and astrology.
