Aweil East County is a county in South Sudan.
The county is located in the eastern part of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, in northern South Sudan, close to the border with the Republic of Sudan. It is bordered by South Darfur State to the north, Abyei Region to the northeast, Twic County in Warrap State to the east, Gogrial West County, also in Warrap State, to the southeast, Aweil South County to the south, Aweil West County to the southwest and Aweil North County to the northwest. [2] it has eight administrative payams Baac, Yargot, Madhol, Malual baai, Mangar tong, Mayom wel, Mangok and Wunlang
Wanyjok, one of the towns in the county, is located approximately 42 kilometres (26 mi), by road, northeast of Aweil, the nearest large town and the capital of Bahr el Ghazal Region. [3] This location lies approximately 801 kilometres (498 mi), by road, northwest of Juba, the capital and largest city in that country. [4] The coordinates of the county are: 9° 0' 0.00"N, 27° 36' 0.00"E (Latitude: 9.0000; Longitude: 27.6000). Other Main towns are Malualkon, Madhol, Warawar, Malualbaai, Akuemkou and Yargot.

The 2008 Sudanese census estimated the population of Torit County at approximately 309,920 [6] Although these results were disputed by the South Sudanese authorities, they are the only recent figures available and form a basis on which newer population surveys can be based.

Lakes State is a state in South Sudan. It has an area of 43,595.08 km2. Rumbek is the capital of the state. Lakes is in the Bahr el Ghazal region of South Sudan, in addition to Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, and Warrap states. Bahr el Ghazal itself was a former province which was split from the Anglo-Egyptian mudiriyat, or province of Equatoria in 1948. The eastern border was the White Nile with Jonglei State on the opposite bank. To the northeast lied the Unity State. Other borders included Warrap State towards the northwest, Western Equatoria to the south and west, and Central Equatoria to the south.

Aweil South County, sometimes called Paliet, is an administrative area in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan bordering Warrap State to the south. It is located in the south eastern part of NBGs. It is also known by the name Paliet, and one of the counties consisting of three major Dinka tribal groups of Ajak, Boncuai and Kongdeer. It was founded in 2000, headquartered in Boncuai in a place called Mangar-Gier. In 2004, the headquarters were shifted to Malek Alel in Ajak. It is boardered to the north by Aweil East and to the west by Aweil Centre, to the south east by Gogrial State, and to the southwest by Western Barh el Ghazal state respectively.
Tong Akeen Ngor is a South Sudanese governor of the state of Northern Bahr el Ghazal. He was appointed by President Kiir in February 2020 as one of revitalized-peace agreement's governors.
