Ayleo Bowles and Mateo Bowles, better known as Ayo & Teo, are an American rap and dance brother duo from Ann Arbor, Michigan, that started in 2011. They are best known for their 2017 viral hit single "Rolex", which peaked at number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100. They appeared in the music videos for Usher's "No Limit" and Chris Brown's "Party".

Early life

Ayleo Bowles (Ayo) and Mateo Bowles (Teo) were born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. [1] They both attended Ypsilanti Community High School. [2]

The duo taught themselves how to dance from watching other artists like Usher, Kida, Skitzo, and Madd Chadd, with their greatest influences being the French dance duo Les Twins and movies like Breakin' and Step Up . [1]

Rise to fame

They made their YouTube channel on November 14, 2011 and made a video in 2016. The duo started out by posting videos on social media. [3] They rose to fame with their 2017 single "Rolex", which charted onto the Billboard Hot 100 at number 20. [1] [4] The song went viral, and the brothers moved to Atlanta to pursue to their music career. [3] They signed to Columbia Records in 2017. [5]

They have performed at the 2016 BET Awards and have had several music video appearances, with artists like Usher, Chris Brown, Lil Yachty, and others. [6] The duo are known for their use of masks in their outfits. [7] [8]

"Ayo Technology" is the fourth single from 50 Cent's third album, Curtis (2007). It was released on July 24, 2007. The song, featuring Justin Timberlake and vocals from Timbaland, who also produced the song along with Danja, has peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Internationally, the song peaked within the top ten of the charts in many countries, including Australia, Denmark and the United Kingdom. The song has since been covered by Milow, a Belgian singer-songwriter whose version was successful in a number of countries, including Belgium, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. The song was also covered by Greek-Belgian singer Katerine Avgoustakis.

It was released to digital download on July 12, 2010, and sent to radio on August 18, 2010, as the first single from Usher's EP, Versus, which is an extension of his sixth studio album, Raymond v. Raymond. An electronic dance track with a Europop style, the song puts emphasis on its chorus, and follows the chord progression of Gm-F-E♭. It received mixed to positive reviews from critics, who favored its production and Usher's vocals, but criticized the song's lack of originality.

<i>Looking 4 Myself</i> 2012 studio album by Usher

Looking 4 Myself is the seventh studio album by American singer Usher. Released on June 8, 2012, by RCA Records, it is his first album for RCA after the October 2011 merger of the Jive Records group which also included his label, Arista Records, that resulted in both labels being consolidated into the RCA label group. Many producers worked on the songs, and the album features appearances from Luke Steele and ASAP Rocky. Inspired by the electronic duo Empire of the Sun and listening to music originating from several locations, Usher intended the album to contain a more experimental sound, that remained relevant to the music of its time. Defined as "revolutionary pop" by the singer, critics noted that Looking 4 Myself is a dance-pop and R&B album that incorporates the genres pop, hip hop, electronic, Europop, and dubstep. Critic Barry Walters has noted how elements of some of its R&B songs were inspired by the emerging alternative R&B genre.

This version only featured rapper Rick Ross as a guest artist. "Toosie Slide" is a song by Canadian rapper Drake from his commercial mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes (2020). Written alongside producer OZ, it was released as the lead single on April 3, 2020, through Republic and OVO. The song is titled after social media influencer, Toosie, who had previously helped the song go viral. A video was released alongside the song, showing Drake quarantined, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also demonstrates the Toosie Slide dance in his Toronto mansion. The song debuted at number eighteen on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 before debuting at number one on the main Billboard Hot 100 chart the next week, making Drake the first male artist to accomplish three number-one debuts.
