Azhar Saleh Abbasi is a retired senior officer of the Pakistan Army. He served as Corps Commander of I Corps Mangla and Chief of Logistics Staff at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. [2]
Abbasi was commissioned in the 28 Cavalry through 74 PMA Long Course. He was awarded the coveted Sword of Honour for his all round best performance in the academy. [3]
In 2014,he was promoted to the rank of Major General. [4] As a major general,he commanded 9th Infantry Division at Kohat. He also served as Vice Chief of General Staff,at GHQ. [5] [6]
In April 2017,his rank was elevated to lieutenant general and appointed as Corps Commander of I Corps. [7] [8] He also had the office of Commander Central Command. [9]
Before his retirement,Abbasi was appointed Chief of Logistics Staff at GHQ,overseeing logistics,supply chains,and support services crucial for operational readiness. [10] [11] [12]
Abbasi retired from active military service on 1 April 2021. [13] [14]
