Azzi Glasser (born January 1970) is a British perfume designer. [1] Glasser started her career in 1991, working for CPL Aromas, and went on to start her own companies, Agent Provocateur Parfum Ltd in 1999 [2] INA Crystals in 2007, Family Three in 2001, Bella Freud Parfum in 2013 and The Perfumer's Story, by Azzi Glasser in 2015.

Early life

Born in North London in 1970, Glasser spent four years in India from 1971-1975. [3] [2] [4]

CPL Aromas

In 1991 Glasser joined CPL Aromas, a perfume house in Hertfordshire. [2] There she trained to understand the chemical behaviour of raw materials, and aged 23 became commercial director, [5] leading to her role as global commercial director for the perfume house.[ citation needed ]

Agent Provocateur

In 1999 Glasser co-founded Agent Provocateur Parfums with Joseph Corré and Serena Rees, launching her first retail perfume ‘Agent Provocateur’. [6] It won the Fifi 2001 award for best new female fragrance in limited distribution, together with a special award for creative imagery. [7] Launched in 60 countries, Glasser and the team went on to create a bath and body collection which together with new additions to the fragrance led to the launch of the ‘House of Parfums’.[ citation needed ]

Family Three

In 2001 Glasser founded Family Three, which creates fragrances for fashion designers, beauty brands, actors, musicians and artists, [8] such as Helena Bonham Carter, Jude Law, Kylie Minogue, Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp. [9] She also works with Andre Balazs on scents for his hotels, such as the Chiltern Firehouse. [10] [11] Azzi also created the scent for The Brompton Club London (now Ramusake).[ citation needed ]

INA Crystals

In 2007 Glasser collaborated with make-up artist Mary Vango creating a skincare range. [4] Customers include Helena Bonham Carter, Sharleen Spiteri, Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue, Sadie Frost, and Alison Mosshart. [12]

In October 2015, Glasser released her first collection of 11 limited edition men's, women's and unisex fragrances from her back catalogue in collaboration with retailer Harvey Nichols. [13]

Bella Freud Parfum Limited

Bella Freud Parfum is a company created by Freud and Glasser in 2013. [14]

The Bella Freud Parfum collection, launched in 2014, includes four Eau de Parfums: Je t'aime Jane, Ginsberg is God, 1970 and Signature. [15] [16]

Personal life

She is married to Dan Glasser, a photographer, and they have two sons. [17] [18]

Coco Chanel was the first face of the fragrance, appearing in the advertisement published by Harper's Bazaar in 1937.

Chanel No. 19 perfume was first marketed in 1971. The number 19 was chosen to commemorate Coco Chanel's birthday, 19 August. The perfume was launched a year before she died. The scent was created by Henri Robert.

Olivia Giacobetti is a French perfumer. She has an independent line called Iunx and has also created fragrances for Diptyque, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Guerlain, and Hermès, among other lines. She is particularly known for a refined style as well as innovation such as her novel use of fig in perfumery, popularizing the note beginning in the mid-1990s. She is among the perfumers who became prominent in a late-20th and early-21st-century turn toward the "nose" behind the scent and independent lines that foreground these creators, a shift away from perfumes sold by fashion labels or celebrities in other fields.

Bertrand Duchaufour is a French perfumer. He has had a prolific career, beginning in Grasse at Lautier Florasynth and continuing for a number of fragragrance firms as well as working independently and as the house perfumer for L'Artisan Parfumeur. He has drawn praise for niche perfume creations as well as mainstream hits.

Mandy Aftel is an American perfumer. She is the owner and nose behind the natural perfume line Aftelier as well as the author of nine books, including four books on natural perfume and a cookbook on essential oils.

<i>Darling</i> (fragrance)

Darling is a women's fragrance from Coty, Inc., and the first perfume to be endorsed by Kylie Minogue, released on 9 November 2006. The perfume was designed by Thierry Wasser from Firmenich. Wasser wanted to create a perfume which reflects the Australian singer: the key notes are Australian sandalwood, star fruit, freesia and Boronia flower.

Francis Kurkdjian is a French perfumer and businessman of Armenian descent. He is best known for creating the men's fragrance Le Male for Jean Paul Gaultier in 1995, which has become one of the world's best-selling perfumes. He has since created a further 40 fragrances for major companies worldwide, including Elie Saab Le Parfum for Elie Saab; My Burberry for Burberry; L'extase for Nina Ricci; and Narciso Rodriguez for Her for Narciso Rodriguez, Green Tea for Elizabeth Arden.

Celine Dion Parfums is a brand line of celebrity-endorsed perfumes by Canadian singer Celine Dion and Coty, Inc., with global retail sales of more than $850 million by March 2010. As of 2011, there have been 14 perfumes that have been released. A new fragrance called Signature, was released in September 2011.

Many products have been released by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue over the years. These products have included books, DVDs, furniture, clothing and fragrances.

<i>Pink Sparkle</i>

Pink Sparkle is a women's fragrance from Coty, Inc., and is the seventh endorsed fragrance by Kylie Minogue. Pink Sparkle was released in 2010, two months before her eleventh studio album Aphrodite was released. According to Minogue, she wanted an "elegant, feel-good that takes you to a wonderful place of optimism and vitality." The bottle is designed as a champagne bottle, which the bottle top is designed as a corkscrew. She promoted the fragrance on The Paul O'Grady Show the same year. In 2011, her ninth fragrance Dazzling Darling was announced, responding back to the Darling range. Minogue stated that out of all her fragrance, she comparing Dazzling Darling to herself, saying its "beautifully feminine and alluring" and that its "very soft and intimate."

Ambition is the third women's fragrance created by American pop/R&B singer, songwriter Jordin Sparks alongside CPL Aromas & Preferred Fragrance, endorsed by Jordin Sparks. The product was released exclusively to Bon-Ton Department Stores nationwide on November 8, 2012 in store and online. Ambition... was Preceded by two additional releases. her first fragrance "Because of You..." and her second fragrance "Fascinate". Each scent was followed with its own Eau De Parfum release and multiple gift sets.

Rise is a perfume endorsed by Beyoncé and distributed through division Coty Beauty of manufacturer Coty, Inc. She collaborated with perfumer Loc Dong from the company International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) for creating the scent. It marks her third fragrance following the release of Heat (2010) and Pulse (2011). Inspired by African-American author Maya Angelou and meant to showcase private sides of Beyoncé's personal life, Rise was created as a woman's fragrance.

Jo Loves is a British niche perfume brand founded by perfumer Jo Malone in 2011, following her 2006 departure from Jo Malone London. She had founded that brand in 1994, and subsequently sold it to Estée Lauder Companies in 1999.

Aedes de Venustas is a niche perfume store and fragrance line. Aedes has operated in Manhattan since 1995. The house perfume line launched in 2012, although there was an earlier collaboration with L'Artisan Parfumeur creating a home fragrance (2005) and perfume (2008) also named Aedes de Venustas.

Christina Aguilera Fragrances is a perfume brand by American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera. It was founded in 2007 in a deal with Procter & Gamble (P&G), who manufactured the products until 2016, after its production and distribution rights were bought out by Elizabeth Arden, Inc. In addition to fragrances, the brand has also worked with the production and sale of other cosmetics, including body lotions, body sprays, bath gels, and deodorants.
