Front 242 is a Belgian electronic music group that came into prominence during the 1980s. Pioneering the style they called electronic body music, they are a profound influence on the electronic and industrial music genres.

Electronic body music is a genre of electronic music that combines elements of industrial music with dance music. It developed in the early 1980s in Germany and Belgium and came to prominence at the end of the decade. The style has been characterized by relentless, programmed electronic beats, repetitive bass lines, and sequenced instrumentation. Typical EBM rhythms alternate between the 4/4 beats of disco and more abrasive rock-inspired backbeats.

Revolting Cocks, also known as RevCo, are an American–Belgian industrial rock band and, sometimes, supergroup that began as a musical side project for Richard23 of Front 242, Luc van Acker, and Al Jourgensen of Ministry.

Wax Trax! Records is an American independent record label based in Chicago. It began as a record shop in Denver, Colorado, opened by life partners Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher, who sold the store in 1978 and moved to Chicago. In November of that year, they opened a store under the same name in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. During the 1980s and 1990s, the accompanying record label became a presence on the new wave and punk rock scenes in the city, and an outlet for European bands. The label was purchased in 1992 by TVT Records and was discontinued in 2001. In 2014, it was re-established by Julia Nash, daughter of co-founder Jim Nash.

Tyranny is an album by Front 242, released in 1991 as their first album on Epic Records after leaving Chicago's Wax Trax! Records. This album is notable for being the band's highest charting album reaching #95 on the Billboard 200. The song "Rhythm of Time" proved a dance club hit topping at #11 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Disco charts matching the previous ranking of the album's title track. The accompanying music video for "Rhythm of Time" appears briefly playing on a television in a scene in the film Single White Female. "Moldavia" was subsequently featured in TV promos for the 1992 film K2.

Jean-Luc De Meyer is a vocalist and lyricist who is best known as the lead vocalist of the Belgian EBM group Front 242.

"Young at Heart" is a pop standard, a ballad with music by Johnny Richards and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh. The song was written and published in 1953, with Leigh contributing the lyrics to what was originally a Richards instrumental called "Moonbeam". Frank Sinatra was the first performer to record the song, which became a million-selling hit in 1953 where it reached the No. 2 spot in the Billboard charts. The song was such a hit that a movie that Sinatra was filming at the same time with Doris Day was renamed to match the song title, and the song was included in the opening and closing credits of the movie.

PIAS Recordings was founded in 1983 in Belgium as Play It Again Sam by Kenny Gates and Michel Lambot. Play It Again Sam expanded along with other European independent labels in the early 1980s. Play It Again Sam's early artists were Front 242, Meat Beat Manifesto and The Young Gods. They added artists such as The Sound, Soulwax/2ManyDJ's, Sigur Rós and Mogwai.

"Funkahdafi" is a 1985 song by Belgian electronic band Front 242 about Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The song is one of the band's concert favorites. "Funkahdafi" first appeared on the EP Politics of Pressure (1985) and was written by Daniel Bressanutti. It also appeared on the band's compilation album Back Catalogue (1987).

It contains a remix of the track "Hatevol" from the predecessor album Wake Up the Coma.
