Le Tigre is an American electronic rock band formed by Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman and Sadie Benning in 1998 in New York City. Benning left in 2000 and was replaced by JD Samson for the rest of the group's existence. They mixed punk's directness and politics with playful samples, eclectic pop, and lo-fi electronics. The group also added multimedia and performance art elements to their live shows, which often featured support from like-minded acts such as the Need.
CMX, originally Cloaca Maxima, is a Finnish rock band. They originally played hardcore punk, but soon expanded to play a wide variety of rock formats, including progressive rock, heavy metal, and mainstream rock 'n' roll. Throughout their career, they have been influenced by progressive rock bands such as Rush, Yes, Tool and King Crimson. The progressive influence is most evident on their albums Dinosaurus Stereophonicus (2000) and Talvikuningas (2007).

David Peel was a New York City–based musician who first recorded in the late 1960s with Harold Black, Billy Joe White, George Cori and Larry Adam performing as David Peel and The Lower East Side Band. His raw, acoustic "street rock" with lyrics about marijuana and "bad cops" appealed mostly to hippies and the disenfranchised.
Down by Law is an American punk rock band formed in 1989 by former All frontman Dave Smalley, who is the only remaining original member. The band has recorded seven studio albums. They stayed on Epitaph Records until 1998 and have since switched to other labels. Down by Law has never achieved substantial commercial success, but a number of largely popular acts cite them as influential, and they have an underground following. After several lineup changes, the band went on hiatus from touring and recording in 2003, but resurfaced in 2008 before beginning work on new material and embarking on their first tour in six years in 2009. In 2017, the band reunited their Punkrockacademyfightsong lineup and are currently active and touring.

The Party is the second studio album by Italian singer Alexia released in 1998. The album saw Alexia begin to branch away from the eurodance sound of Fan Club towards Europop, causing disappointment amongst some of Alexia's fans. The album contained the Almighty Edit of "Uh La La La" as a bonus track for territories which had seen the release of Fan Club, and the lead track for the UK and Australia where the song had been released in its remixed version.

Janne Westerlund is a Finnish musician, songwriter and visual artist known from such Finnish groups as Circle, Pharaoh Overlord, and Plain Ride. His main instrument is guitar but on his solo gigs he plays banjo as well. He sings and writes lyrics mainly in English. Westerlund's career started in the beginning of the 1990s in a small Finnish city called Hamina when he founded Sweetheart, an experimental noise rock group, with his friends. After Sweetheart, he released two albums of "organic electronica" with a trio called Chainsmoker.
Breeze is a rapper from Los Angeles who released at least one album, titled T.Y.S.O.N. in 1989. The album featured production by the L.A. Posse, a Hip-Hop production team that produced for LL Cool J and Whodini, amongst others. His notability was substantiated by his inclusion on the west coast remix of "Where are They Now", a song presented by Nas where notable artists from the earlier history of Hip-Hop were featured as a sort of tribute to their contribution to the music genre.
John Peel Session is an EP by the Finnish band Deep Turtle. The songs were recorded live at the Maida Vale Studios, London on 9 October 1994 for John Peel's Radio 1 show, broadcast on 11 October 1994. Deep Turtle was the first Finnish band invited on the show. The session was later released on a 7" single and CD by the indie label Bad Vugum.
