The ASEAN Championship, currently known as the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the biennial football tournament organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) for men's national teams in Southeast Asia.

He and Sukamuljo were recognized as one of the most outstanding players, and awarded as the BWF Best Male Players of the Year for two years in a row after collecting seven Superseries titles in 2017 and eight World Tour titles in 2018, including two back-to-back All England Open titles.
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo is an Indonesian badminton player who was ranked world number 1 in the men's doubles by the Badminton World Federation. Considered as one of the best players of his generation, he won the men's doubles titles at the All England Open in 2017 and 2018; the World Superseries Finals in 2017; and the Asian Games in 2018. He was also featured in the Indonesia winning team at the SEA Games in 2015; the Asia Team Championships in 2018 and 2020; and the Thomas Cup in 2020. Together with his then partner Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, they were awarded the BWF Best Male Players of the Year for two consecutive years after collecting seven Superseries titles in 2017 and eight World Tour titles in 2018.
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting nicknamed Badminton's giantkiller is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to senior prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games, having won a 2014 Youth Olympic bronze in 2014. At the 2020 Olympics, he won bronze in the men's singles event, becoming the first Youth Olympic badminton medalist to win a medal at the Olympics. Ginting was part of Indonesia's winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.
Muhammad Rian Ardianto is an Indonesian badminton player. Born in Bantul, Yogyakarta SR, Ardianto plays for the Jaya Raya Jakarta club at national events. He won the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the bronze medals at the 2017 SEA Games, and at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships. Ardianto was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup. He reached a career high of world number 1 in the men's doubles with Fajar Alfian on 27 December 2022.
Fajar Alfian is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with the SGS PLN Bandung. He won the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the bronze medals at the 2017 SEA Games, 2019 and 2022 World Championships. He was part of the Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup. He reached a career high of world number 1 in the men's doubles with Muhammad Rian Ardianto on 27 December 2022.
Lee Zii Jia, often referred to by his initials LZJ, is a Malaysian badminton player. He is a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games, Asian champion and All England champion. Known for his smash, especially his backhand smash, physical agility, speed and reflexes, he is regarded as one of the best players in the men's singles category in the current generation.
Loh Kean Yew OLY is a Singaporean badminton player. He is the former men's singles world champion, winning the title at the 2021 BWF World Championships, becoming the first Singaporean to achieve this feat.
The 2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the second edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, held at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Setar, Malaysia, from 6 to 11 February 2018 and were organised by the Badminton Asia. This tournament also served as the Asian qualification for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup.
The 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the third edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, staged at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, Philippines, from 11 to 16 February 2020. This championships was organized by the Badminton Asia with Philippine Badminton Association as host organiser and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup in Denmark. Competitors could also accumulate points as part of qualification process for 2020 Summer Olympics badminton tournament in Tokyo. Indonesia and Japan were the defending champions on men's and women's category respectively. They both successfully defended their title.

This championships was organised by the Badminton Asia with Badminton Association of Malaysia as the host organiser. It was sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. It served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup in Thailand. Indonesia, the three-time champions, and Japan were the defending champions of the men's and women's category respectively.
