Ardy Bernardus Wiranata (born 10 February 1970) is an Indonesian-born Canadian former badminton player who rated among the top singles players in the world (several of whom were fellow Indonesians) during most of the 1990s.
Quick, supple, and powerful, he won numerous international events and arguably had the best overall record of any player in the first half of the decade. Born in Jakarta, Wiranata trained at the PB Djarum. His achievements began when won the invitation World Junior Championships in 1987 in the boys' singles and mixed doubles event partnered with Susi Susanti. Afterwards, he managed to competing in the senior tournament, by become the runner-up at the 1989 IBF World Championships. [1]
Wiranata earned the silver medal in singles at the 1992 Summer Olympics, losing the final to fellow countryman Alan Budikusuma. He also won the silver medal at the 1989 IBF World Championships, and bronze medals at this competition in 1991 and 1993. His first-place finishes included the prestigious All-England men's singles in 1991, three Japan Opens, and six Indonesian Open singles championships between 1990 and 1997, where he dominated his teammates. [2] Wiranata also won the Malaysia (1993), Singapore (1994), Korea (1994), Swedish (1997), and U.S. (2000) Opens, as well as the Badminton World Cup (1991) and the World Badminton Grand Prix Final (1994). He clinched the decisive third point for Indonesia against Malaysia in the final of the 1994 Thomas Cup (men's world team championship) in Jakarta. He retired from badminton in 2000.
Wiranata is married and has a son. He is now a badminton coach in Calgary, Canada. [3] Wiranata became a Canadian citizen in 2014. [4]

Michael Ludwig Hariyanto Arbi is a former badminton player from Indonesia who rated among the world's top few singles players in the 1990s. He is the younger brother of Eddy Hartono and Hastomo, who were also world class badminton players.
Eddy Hartono Arbie is an Indonesian former badminton player who excelled in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After a brief stint competing in singles, he soon became a doubles specialist noted for his deft racket control and fluent strokes. His two siblings, Hastomo and Hariyanto were world class shuttlers in men's singles.
PB Djarum is an Indonesian badminton club in Kudus, Central Java. The club was founded at the Djarum brak located at Jl. Bitingan Lama No. 35 in Kudus in 1969. Djarum's CEO, Budi Hartono, encouraged the use of an on-site badminton court among his employees. A young athlete, Liem Swie King, played well, leading Budi Hartono to seriously develop the Kudus community's activities into the PB Djarum organization.

Denny Kantono is a retired Chinese-Indonesian badminton player who specialized in men's doubles. He shared numerous international titles with his regular partner Antonius Ariantho including the French (1993), Hong Kong (1993), Denmark (1994), Thailand (1994), Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia (1996) Opens; as well as the Badminton World Cup (1996) and World Badminton Grand Prix (1998) events. They were runners-up at the prestigious All-England Championships in 1995 and bronze medalists at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Fung Permadi is a former male Chinese Indonesian badminton player. He was a singles specialist who played first for Indonesia and later for Chinese Taipei.
Sarwendah Kusumawardhani Sukiran is a retired badminton player from Indonesia. She was the women's singles champions at the 1990 World Cup and 1993 SEA Games. Kusumawardhani was part of Indonesia winning team at the inaugural Sudirman Cup, also the women's team event of SEA Games in 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993.
Imay Hendra is a former Indonesian badminton player, and later represented Brunei after became Brunei national coach. He won a men's doubles bronze medal at the 1991 IBF World Championships in Copenhagen with Bagus Setiadi. They won the Finnish Open together in 1990, also finished as semi-finalists at the All England and Indonesia Open in 1991. He was part of Indonesia winning team at the 1993 Asian Championships.
Aryono Miranat is a retired badminton player from Indonesia who specialized in mixed doubles. After his retirement he became a badminton trainer at PB Djarum in Kudus. As of 29 December 2007, he is a coach in the men's doubles category for the Indonesian badminton association (PBSI). He is currently the Indonesia national team men's doubles head coach.
Zelin Resiana is an Indonesian former badminton player who specialized in doubles. She trained at the Djarum club. For her achievements in badminton, a statue of her has been unveiled outside GOR Djarum in Tidar, Magelang, and inaugurated on 21 August 2015.
Jones Ralfy Jansen is an Indonesian-born German badminton player who currently represents Germany. He was a former PB Djarum players and has joined that club in 2007. In 2010, he awarded as the best Djarum player. He won his first senior international title at the 2013 Portugal International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Keshya Nurvita Hanadia. He also won the 2014 Finnish and Turkey International tournaments with his sister Cisita Joity Jansen.
Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto is an Indonesian badminton player from PB Djarum club. He was the boys' doubles gold medalist at the 2009 Asian Junior Badminton Championships partnered with Angga Pratama.
Devin Lahardi Fitriawan is an Indonesian badminton player from the Tangkas Alfamart club. Born in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Fitriawan joined the national team in 2003. He was part of the Indonesia junior team that won the bronze medals at the 2001 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' doubles, mixed doubles, and boys' team event. In the senior event, Fitriawan plays in the mixed doubles event. Teamed-up with Lita Nurlita they won the title at the 2007 New Zealand Open and 2008 Chinese Taipei Open. He also won the 2010 Malaysia Grand Prix Gold partnered with Liliyana Natsir.
Budi Santoso is an Indonesian retired badminton player from PB Djarum club, who joined the club since 1982. He was part of the national team that clinched the men's team title at the Asian Games in 1998, and at the Thomas Cup in 2002. Santoso had been ranked in the world top ten. After retired from the international tournament, he started his career as a coach in Mutiara Bandung club, and later for the men's singles team in the national camp.
Daniel Marthin is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club since 2015. He was a champion at the 2019 Asian and World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event. Marthin was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.
