The European Amateur Boxing Championships is the highest competition for boxing amateurs in Europe, organised by the continent's governing body EUBC, which stands for the European Boxing Confederation. The first edition of the tournament took place in 1924, although the first 'competitive' championships were hosted by the city of Stockholm (Sweden) in 1925.

The 1999 IBF World Championships were held in Copenhagen, Denmark, between 10 May and 23 May 1999. During men's single semi final match between Fung Permadi and Peter Gade, a historical decision was made by Permadi. The score was 14 all in the third set with Gade held the match point. Commonly, a serve receiver will opt for deuce. At odds Permadi refused it. Disturbed with the peculiar, Gade fouled his serve then returned Permadi's serve to the net and lost the match by the score 14-15. The same scenario happened in the women final match. Camilla Martin chose not to play the deuce and won against Dai Yun. She was engaged to Gade then and subsequently avenged for her fiancée.

Sport in Denmark is diverse. The national sport is running, but club sport is football with the most notable results being qualifying for the European Championships six times in a row (1984–2004) and winning the Championship in 1992. Other significant achievements include winning the Confederations Cup in 1995 and reaching the quarter final of the 1998 World Cup. Other popular sports include handball, esports, cycling, sailing sports, badminton, ice hockey, swimming, and recently also golf. A few youths also play basketball.

The 1993 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in Copenhagen, Denmark for the third time. The Danish city had hosted the event previously in 1950 and 1970.

The 2018 IIHF World Championship was an international ice hockey tournament hosted by the Danish cities of Copenhagen and Herning, held from 4 to 20 May 2018. The IIHF announced the winning bid on 23 May 2014 in Minsk, Belarus. South Korea made its debut at the World Championship, having played in the lower divisions previously.

The 2023 BWF World Championships was a badminton tournament which took place from 21 to 27 August 2023 in Royal Arena, Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen hosted the BWF World Championships for the fifth time.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Denmark at the UCI Road World Championships</span> Sporting event delegation

Denmark at the UCI Road World Championships is an overview of the Danish results at the UCI Road World Championships. The Danish competitors are selected by coaches of the Danish Cycling Federation. Denmark was one of the founding nations of the World Championships, and were the hosts of the first edition ever, the 1921 UCI Road World Championships in Copenhagen. This event only consisted of one race, the men's amateur road race, in which the Danes also won their first ever medal at the World Championships, a silver medal for Willum Nielsen. Since then, Denmark has won a total of 55 medals at the World Championships, including 19 gold medals. Many of these have been won at home soil in Copenhagen, where six editions of the World Championships have been held.
