The World University Badminton Championships is a competition sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), which was first held in 1990 in Nicosia, Cyprus. [1]

The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".

International University Sports Federation

The Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire is responsible for the organization and governance of worldwide sports competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 25. It was founded in 1949 as the world governing body of national university sports organizations and currently has 174 member associations from five continents. Between 1949 and 2011, it was based in Brussels (Belgium); since 2011, it is based in Lausanne (Switzerland).

2007 Summer Universiade

The 2007 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXIV Summer Universiade and commonly known as Bangkok Universiade(Kīlā Mahāwitthayālại Lok Krung Thēp Mahā Nakhǭn), was an international multi-sport for university athletes that took place from 8 to 18 August 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand, with preliminary events in some sports beginning on 7 August.

2011 Summer Universiade

The 2011 Summer Universiade, the XXVI Summer Universiade, was hosted in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

Football at the Summer Universiade Football tournament

Football was the optional sport at the 1979 edition.Between 1985 to 2019, football was a recognized mandatory sport. The women's football competition began in the 1993 edition as optional event and. Due the creation of the FISU University Football World Cup in 2019, the sport will no longer be part of the Summer World University Games program starting at that year. With this change, the number of mandatory sports will be kept at fifteen, since the place will be occupied by badminton which after five editions as an optional sport turned a compulsory sport.

2017 Summer Universiade Sports competition

The 2017 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXIX Summer Universiade and commonly called the Taipei 2017 Universiade, was an international multi-sport event that took place in Taipei, Taiwan from 19 to 30 August 2017.

The World University Cross Country Championships is an international biennial cross country running competition for student athletes, organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The 2012 edition of the competition featured 76 male and 61 female athletes from 23 countries. Over the history of the event, 64 countries have competed but only three have been present at all editions of the championships.

The World University Cycling Championship is a competition sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), which was first held in 1978 in Antwerp, Belgium. Before 1978 there were also World University Championships, but these were not sponsored by the International University Sports Federation. The next edition will be held in Jelenia Gora, Poland in 2014. The championship last five days and could contain events in five cycling sports: road cycling, track cycling, mountainbike, BMX and Cyclo-Cross.

The 2006 World University Championships are the World Championships organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in 2006. 27 World University Championships were organized attracting 5,852 participants from a total of 209 countries.

2019 Summer Universiade Sports event

The 2019 Summer Universiade, the XXX Summer Universiade was held in Naples, Italy, between 3 and 14 July 2019.

Taipei Gymnasium Gymnasium in Songshan, Taipei, Taiwan

The Taipei Gymnasium is a gymnasium in Songshan District, Taipei, Taiwan.

Badminton was contested at the 2015 Summer Universiade from July 6 to 12 at the Hwasun Hanium Culture Sports Center in Hwasun, South Korea. Men's and women's singles, men's, women's, and mixed doubles, and mixed team events will be contested.

Lee Dong-keun is a Korean badminton player specializing in men's singles. He won his first international senior title at the 2011 Vietnam International tournament. Lee participated at the 2012 World University Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, won a gold medal in the mixed team and a bronze in the singles events. He was also part of the South Korean winning team at the 2014 Asian Games. In 2016, Lee represented his country competing at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Low Juan Shen is a Malaysian badminton player. He won the men's doubles title at the 2018 World University Championships partnered with Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub.

Hsieh Pei-chen is a Taiwanese badminton player. She won gold medal at the 2010 World University Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Chen Hung-ling.

Augustina Ebhomien Sunday is a Nigerian badminton player. She educated English and Literature at the Benson Idahosa University, and in 2015, she competed at the Summer Universiade In Gwangju, South Korea.

Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub is a Malaysian badminton player.

2021 Summer World University Games

The 2021 Summer World University Games, officially known as the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, is a multi-sport event sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), scheduled to be held in Chengdu, Sichuan, China from 26 June—7 July 2022. These will be the third edition of the Games to be hosted by China, and the first edition to be branded under the "World University Games" title rather than "Universiade".

The World University Handball Championship is the World University Championship (WUC) in handball competition contested by the men's and women's university's national teams of the member federations/associations of International University Sports Federation (FISU).

2023 Summer World University Games

The 2023 FISU Summer World University Games (Universiade), the 32nd edition of the event, will be held in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
