Belarus International

The Belarus International in badminton is an international open held in Belarus since 2018 and are thereby one of the most recent international championships in Europe. [1]

Contents

After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) banned all Belarusian players and officials from BWF events, and cancelled all BWF tournaments in Belarus. [2]

The Russia national badminton team represents Russia in international badminton competitions. The team is organized by the National Badminton Federation of Russia (NBFR) located in Moscow. The NBFR became the sport's sole administrator when the Russian Badminton Federation (RBF) was dissolved by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in 2005.

The National Badminton Federation of Russia (NBFR) is the governing body for the sport of badminton in Russia. Based in Moscow, the NBFR has been a member since 1992 of Badminton Europe, the regional organization for the Badminton World Federation. The organization was established as one of the successors to CIS Badminton (1991-1992) and USSR Badminton Federation (1962-1991) after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The NFBR became the sole administrator for the Russia national badminton team when the Russian Badminton Federation (RBF) was dissolved by the Russian Olympic Committee in 2005.

Ice hockey in Belarus is governed by the Belarus Ice Hockey Federation. Belarusian men's and junior national teams participated at the IIHF World Championships. Belarus has been a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since May 6, 1992.

Alesia Mikhaylovna Zaitsava is a Belarusian badminton player. Bodin Isara is badminton player and Rattana Bundit University's student from Thailand. He competed for Thailand at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Maneepong Jongjit but was defeated in the quarterfinals by Malaysia's Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong. In 2013, Isara switched from competing for the national squad to competing for the Granular Club, an independent badminton club in Thailand. Currently his partner is Nipitphon Phuangphuapet.

The Belarus national badminton team represents Belarus in international badminton team competitions. The Belarusian team is managed by the Belarusian Badminton Federation (BBF) which organizes badminton championships and prepares Belarusian national badminton teams. The team was formed in 1992 after the association was found.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Thomas & Uber Cup</span> Biennial international badminton team championship

The 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament was hosted at Bangkok, Thailand in the Impact Arena from 8 to 15 May 2022. This marks the third time Thailand has hosted the Thomas Cup, and second time for the Uber Cup.
